Biden: Obama’s Cheney?

So Obama picked Biden, an old school Democrat who has a recent history of racially insensitive comments. Who is only 6 years younger than John McCain (what was that about McCain being too old again?), who is a major egotist on a Bill Clinton scale and likes to make everything about himself. He’s also done things that have helped the terrorists in Iraq. The Iraqi’s also don’t like him. So much for his brilliant foreign policy experience. Sounds like a typical Pelosi Democrat to me.

So, it’s assumed Obama chose him for his experience. Since Obama has little to none. Does that make Biden Obama’s Cheney? Is he going to make all the hard decisions for him and run the country from a bunker, as Dems claim Cheney has?

What was that about change again?

UPDATE: This is the pathetic message Dems are using to explain away their failure to win this time. Only, they’re doing it ahead of time so they can say: See, we told you so! Here’s a newsflash, people. It’s possible not to vote for Obama and not be a racist. It could be that you just think he’s not qualified or right for the job. To claim someone’s racist because they disagree with him, is so specious it deserves nothing but the worst kind of scorn.

Oh, and the new name for the oBAMa/BIden team is BamBi.

A Case for Hillary

The big question is, will the Dems drop Obama? I don’t think so. They never like to admit they’re wrong. They love to chide Bush for that sin, but it’s really one of the Dems biggest weaknesses. Hubris.

If they manage to install Hillary as the candidate now, I suspect it will backfire big time. Obamaniacs will not show up at the polls. Hillary will lose big. If Obama is the candidate, the writing is already on the wall. As I said months ago, the Obama balloon will deflate the more people get to know him. He’s just a pretty face in an empty suit.

Done.

Pathetic of Them

McCain cleaned Obama’s clock in Saturday’s interviews with Pastor Rick Warren. So much so that Dems are running around now claiming it was because McCain knew the answers ahead of time. The NY Times even implied it today.

Senator John McCain was not in a “cone of silence” on Saturday night while his rival, Senator Barack Obama, was being interviewed at the Saddleback Church in California.

Members of the McCain campaign staff, who flew here Sunday from California, said Mr. McCain was in his motorcade on the way to the church as Mr. Obama was being interviewed by the Rev. Rick Warren, the author of the best-selling book “The Purpose Driven Life.”

The matter is of interest because Mr. McCain, who followed Mr. Obama’s hour long appearance in the forum, was asked virtually the same questions as Mr. Obama. Mr. McCain’s performance was well received, raising speculation among some viewers, especially supporters of Mr. Obama, that he was not as isolated during the Obama interview as Mr. Warren implied.

The reason McCain did a lot better is the same reason I said months ago.  Obama will get his head handed to him once he debates McCain. McCain is a seasoned politician with decades of experience. He also knows how to stay on message. Obama is a novice who equivocates and doesn’t want to sound too decisive in case he offends someone. That’s what he did with Rick Warren, basically giving non-answers. That’s one of the things that makes him a weak candidate.

When they do debates, Obama is going to lose. And this has been the start of that process. He’s already behind McCain in the Real Clear Politics polls in the Battleground states. And in the margin of error in the national average. Obama has shown no momentum at all. And if Hillary makes the convention all about her, he may not even get the traditional convention bounce.

UPDATE: There’s also the matter of Obama’s friends which will not go away.

One of my Problems with Obama

Personally, I have no problem with seeing a black president elected. Or a woman. A gay. A Hispanic or Asian. All I care about is are they competent to lead and do they have sound policies. One thing that turns me off completely is if they are racist.

I really detest identity politics. I have no problem with people being proud of their heritage or ethnicity, but when they make claims that it gives them some kind of superiority or special rights, they lose me. No group should have special status. Everyone should be equally protected under basic human rights and the constitution.

One of my big problems with Obama (besides some of his policies) is that he attended a racist church for 20 years, and he seems to have a problem with white people. According to his book, Dreams of my Father, he defined his grandparents as “typical white folk, racists”. Which in itself is a racist statement. But his book is full of similar quotes,

But that’s not all. Apparently, his wife is/was a racist herself. And her college thesis (which she had closed until after the election) is a denouncement of white America, which she defines as irredeemably racist and defines herself as a separationist. I realize she was just a college student and we all know who college students are often full of self righteous crap. But she’s done little to seem like someone who has grown up since then. She has this mega-bitch vibe and a chip on her shoulder the size of her state. If that’s who he’s married to, I don’t think that reflects well on his mentality.

So I can’t support Obama, and I find myself writing more about him on here than McCain. Because the idea of a racist president, no matter what color he is, is repugnant to me.

Yes, I’m sure many Democrats reading this will say “What about Bush or (name a Republican)?”. The answer is, I don’t know of any examples of any President being openly racist in these times. Not as openly as Obama has. Sorry.

I’m not a McCain fan either, and not because he’s “too liberal” but because he is too reactionary and autocratic at times. I disagree with him on a host of issues. Thing like the McCain/Feingold bill are unconstitutional and unforgivable. But if I am forced to choose between him and Obama at this point, it’s easy for me to choose sides.

UPDATE: Myths of the Obamacans. He isn’t getting that many Republicans, despite what they tell you.

The Plame Game is Over

Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson’s sideshow has ended due to lack of merit and a point. Of course, millions of tax payer dollars have been wasted on this frivolous lawsuit, but the Democrats wanted it to try to hurt the Bush administration. And since all Democrats seem to be capable of besides passing lame nanny state laws, is sue Republicans, you can add this to a long list of failed investigations that wasted tax dollars and proved nothing of merit. Scooter Libby’s life was ruined for no good reason and Plame and Wilson got to be on TV and in Vanity Fair a whole bunch of times. But the media whore’s 15 minutes are up.

At some point you’d think the Democrats would learn and actually have ideas other than investigate Republicans and pass more laws banning things. But this is the party that still trots out new deal rhetoric every election.

Obama’s Goatse Salute

image

This is the “salute” they want people to make when Obama appears. How appropriate. It’s exactly how everyone’s sphincter will look if his big government programs become a reality.

Is it just me, or does the style of these Obama posters look like something from the Soviet Union? I think his supporters are overplaying their hand a bit.

I thought the Kerry campaign was smug, but Obama could give Kerry a few lessons.

UPDATE: Wow, shock! Edwards is a phony and a liar. Who’d have guessed? Another candidate who ran for president before he finished his first term in the Senate.

She’s Baaaaack!

It looks like Hillary is not going to stop being an issue for Obama. She may even try to take the nomination from him somehow. Which would be an interesting turn of events.

The problem Obama’s having is this. Despite the fact that the press is making him out to be the second coming and pushing him as this hugely popular figure, he’s only even with McCain in the polls. Even slightly behind in some.polls. And McCain is a 71 year old Republican that Republicans don’t even like. Usually, Democrat candidates are 10 points or more ahead at this stage in a campaign. Kerry was, Gore was. Yet Obama seems to be sinking, not advancing. And Republicans are supposedly so unpopular right now if you believe the press.

Hillary has a lot of electoral votes she’s bringing with her to the convention. And she could use it to make trouble. At the very least she could force Obama to put her on the ticket. And you know what, if I were Obama, I would not want her as VP. People who get it the Clinton’s way don’t last too long.

Hillary can rightfully claim that Obama is a weak candidate. He barely defeated her and now he looks shakey against McCain.McCain is whacking him about the head with what I call a “bugs bunny” strategy. Goofy campaign ads that are almost non-sequiters. And they seem to be working.

So Hillary can come in and say she’s the answer to November. And she might even be able to make a good case. I don’t think she can win, however. I also think Obama probably won’t win (which I have been saying from the start).

That Chinese curse seems to be hitting the Democrats hard this year ("May you live in interesting times.")
