Happy New Year

image

2008 is upon us. Traditionally, I do my new years predictions on this blog every year. Most years I had a really good track record for predictions. Alas, my database was wiped by my last host. The saves I did turned out to be useless because of some glitch with their software and they didn’t back things up properly on their end. Which is why I moved my site. So last year’s predictions aren’t available. I don’t remember any of them except two of them.

Giuliani will be the leading Republican in the polls. I was sort of right. He is within the margin of error.

Hillary would be the lead for the Democrats. That’s pretty much the case, though that could change in the next few weeks.

I vaguely recall my other predictions. I wish I could find them. It really upsets me that 4 years of blogging got lost. Anyway…

Tomorrow I will give my predictions for 2008. Have a great New Year’s eve and drive safe.

X-Mas Story DuJour

Sort of. A man finds out his long lost birth mother works at the same store he does.

For years, Steve Flaig, a delivery-truck driver at a Lowe’s store here, had searched for his birth mother.

He found her working the cash register at the front of the store.

For several months, he and Christine Tallady had known each other casually as co-workers. Last Friday, they met for the first time as mother and son.

“I have a complete family now, all my kids,” said Tallady, who has two younger children. “It’s a perfect time of year. It’s the best Christmas present ever.”

For Flaig, it was the reunion he had dreamed of for much of his 22 years. He had always known he was adopted, and his parents, Pat and Lois Flaig, who raised him since his birth, supported his decision to search for his birth mother.

Top 8 Most Dangerous Roads

Scary stuff. Bolivia seems to be #1 for bad roads, but they’re not alone.

Check out the movie Sorcerer if you want to see those bad roads in action.
