Scam of the DayNo matter who wins the election, I predict more of the same stupidity in the name of protecting the Earth. Polar Bears are doing fine. So are lying environmentalists counting their grant dollars.
Alaska industry and political leaders reacted with disappointment, even vehemence, to the decision Wednesday to protect the polar bear as “threatened,” despite assurances from the Bush administration that the listing would mean no new regulation in Alaska.
Industry officials worried that the listing decision would give environmentalists a new tool for opposing development in the Arctic, especially new offshore oil exploration and development. Politicians attacked the science behind the decision as speculative.
“Reinterpreting the Endangered Species Act in this way is an unequivocal victory for extreme environmentalists who want to block all development in our state,” said Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska.
There’s a predicted 70 seat loss to Republicans this election. That will mean, no matter who wins, that Democrats fully control the Congress. McCain is also a RINO, so he will probably do “environmentally friendly” stuff as well, supporting Global Warming measures and so on. All of this is bad for the people in a lot of ways. Loss of freedoms, loss of rights, loss of services and things you used to take for granted.
Watch. Protecting polar bears sounds so innocuous. But that’s not what this law is for. It’s to block oil exploration and drilling. Something we need to do. And more land owners are likely to have less ability to work their land in the future because of draconian laws.
And look, this came from Bush. Wait’ll you see what the next president does.

YepI disagree with the sentiment about Obama being the best choice, however. There is no good choice this time. But McCain has a slightly better track record.

No More Taxes, Stupid! No surprise here, but I love seeing the name Clinton next to the words “200 economists rejected"…
More than 200 economists, including four Nobel prize winners, signed a letter rejecting proposals by presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John McCain to offer a summertime gas-tax holiday.
Columbia University economist Joseph Stiglitz, former Congressional Budget Office Director Alice Rivlin and 2007 Nobel winner Roger Myerson are among those who signed the letter calling proposals to temporarily lift the tax a bad idea. Another is Richard Schmalensee of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who was member of President George H.W. Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers.
The moratorium would mostly benefit oil companies while increasing the federal budget deficit and reducing funding for the government highway maintenance trust fund, the economists said.
Any politician who wants to raise taxes, for any reason, is an imbecile. We already pay too much tax. Increased taxes on goods only gets passed on to the consumer via higher prices. How does that help anyone?
It’s been proven time and again that government and politicians cannot manage money. The more you give them, the more they waste it. Any politician who asks for more tax money is a bad politician. McCain and Clinton both suck. So does Obama who would also waste money. We’re not given any good choices here. But a message needs to be sent to these clowns that they need to lower prices not raise them. Taxes are a solution to nothing.

Dems Drag OnHillary easily defeated Obama today. Which means neither candidate is very strong. They have failed to defeat the other. As a result they are going into the convention, still fighting over the nomination. It makes the Dems look weak. It may end up very destructive for them. But then, the Clintons have been poison for the Democrats just as Bush, in some ways, has been poison for Republicans. Just as Bush has sold out many core Republican principals, so has Clinton to the Democrats. As a result, both parties are weakend.
McCain may just easily walk away with this. All I know is I was sick of this election months ago. To see it drag on like this only makes me even less interested.
I almost pity the Dems, but the truth is, bth parties are a mess right now.

Finally, PennsylvaniaI don’t know about you, but this whole primary has been one long drag, with the occasional amusement of watching the Dems tear into each other and the Clintons reveal their true colors to the once faithful. That part has been amusing. But tomorrow is the final big contest and Hillary may or may not win. If she wins, she will keep fighting till the end even though she is out of cash. If she loses big, she will probably keep fighting, only this time for a VP slot.
As it is, I doubt either Dem can win now. They have been badly tarred and McCain is a lot savvier and experienced than many give him credit for. He can certainly show up Obama in a debate. An Obama/Clinton ticket is a loser. It would turn off too many Dems who hate the other person and everyone else is likely to stay home or vote McCain.
Obama is no longer the golden boy after Rev. Wright and his “bitter” comments. I’m sure there will be more missteps as they get closer to the finishing line. He is still green. And Clinton has left too much a bad taste in many people’s mouths. People are also getting really tired of Bill. The days of Bll Clinton adulation are definitely on the wane.
All in all, it ill be nice to see the primary season wind down. We’ll get the tired spectacle of conventions propping up candidates most people aren’t enthused about. I’m not personally excited about teh prospects of any of these candidates winning, but I’ll vote for McCain when it comes down to it. Especially if teh election looks close. All of them are state loving control freaks. At least McCain has a record of being a real cost cutter.

Here Comes McCain Again
I can’t tell if these ladies are kidding or not with these videos, but they make me laugh. The McCsin girls are kind of a parody of the Obama girl. Their first video ws “It’s Raining McCain”. This one is even funnier.
If McCain is elected, I suppose their next one will probably be “Blame it on McCain”.

Gennifer Flowers on the Election
The stuff at the end about Bill’s description of Hillary’s love life is priceless (if not tasteless).
PermalinkOuch of the Day
A black Lt Colonel in ths US Air Force writes an open letter to the Democrats to call them out on their racial hypocrisy. Rather than excerpting it here, you should read the whole thing here. It’s brutally accurate and utterly damning. The Democrats are not the friends of black people and never have been. If anything, they have actively held back blacks by trying to keep them dependent on government handouts designed to discourage their independence. In many ways, they remind me of the way Michael Jackson endeavored to keep his brothers poor as documented in that Jackson article I posted the other day. They use similar tactics. On one hand promising them the world, on the other keeping them poor and dependent on Democrat largess.
They’ve done a great job tricking some people into believing their schemes. An Obama win might prolong to mass delusion. But if Hillary wins the nomination somehow, that may be over for good.

Bwa ha ha!
When you have Keith Olbermann going postal on Clinton, you have to admit this is a hilarious race. Even if the end result is going to suck no matter who wins. It’s a circus.
Clinton is being exposed as the nutty fraud that she is. The Clintons have probably lost black support for all time after this. She’s done.
It’s also hilarious to watch self righteous Clinton stooge Elliot Spitzer go down in flames this week. Another ethically challenged politician from the “most ethical administration in history”.
Honestly, Dems, do you understand what us Clinton critics were saying now? They are a nightmare in the body politic. They are poison to your party. They systematically did untold damage to the Democrats, as Bush has to the Republicans.
If only Washington, DC had a big flush chain attached to it. The public needs to get rid of the lot of these alleged leaders. Time to clean house!
