Creeps of the DayA group in Sweden has flattened the tires of 1000 SUVs to “fight global warming”.
Everyone knows it: action on climate change is a matter of utter urgency. Nonetheless, carbon emissions continue to accelerate, powered by the uncontrollable machines of the world economy. One eminent sign of this rush to disaster is the trend of SUVs, clogging the streets in our Western cities, emitting up to three times more carbon than cars of average size on the market. SUVs have become a symbol of the irrational destruction of the most basic conditions of life. Attached to no human need whatsoever - only to the conspicuous consumption of an affluent class, feeling the ”need” to flaunt monster vehicles - they constitute perhaps the most insane source of unnecessary carbon emissions. Everyone should know it: if we can’t deal with SUVs swiftly, we can’t deal with any other emissions either. And nothing less than our survival is at stake.
Armed with this analysis, and with mung beans or grains of gravel, a group called The Indians of the Concrete Jungle has struck against hundreds of SUVs in Sweden in recent months. The first action occured in the poshest part of innercity Stockholm in June. Tyres on 60 SUVs in Östermalm were deflated. A weblog was posted on the internet, and since then, the campaign for disarmament of SUVs in Sweden has spread like wildfire. To this date, approximately 1000 SUVs have been temporarily disarmed in at least nine Swedish cities, including the three largest (Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö) as well as several smaller cities; new tribes are popping up by the week. The Indians of the Concrete Jungle have appeared in virtually every major media outlet in the country - from a prime time debate on national television, to a very sympathetic report in the company of Indians in action published in the biggest morning newspaper, to an op-ed piece in the biggest evening paper and countless news reports in local media. Thus, in a matter of months, the issue of unnecessary carbon emissions in general and SUVs in particular have risen to the top of the agenda in Sweden – something that never happened before – and ownership of the vehicle has become all the less convenient.
How far are these self righteous ignorants going take things before they get shut down? This is what happens when politicians create a hysterical “crisis”. Groups start appearing to commit acts of terror and vandalism. In the early 70s there was all these radical terrorists like the SLA. Now we have groups like ALF and these jokers.
Notice how the website I linked to encourages people to start their own chapter. That’s the mentality we’re dealing with.

Government Excels at One ThingWasting taxpayers money on frivolous boondoggles. This is why they should have nothing to do with global warming “solutions”. All they’ll do is rob us blind for little or no actual result. And its over something that’s debatable, at best, anyway. But look what they’ve already done.
Last July, this column reported that the latest global warming bill — the Low Carbon Economy Act of 2007, introduced by Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M. and Arlen Specter, R-Pa. — would cost taxpayers more than $1 trillion in its first 10 years and untold trillions of dollars in subsequent decades.
This week, the EPA sent its analysis of the bill’s impact on climate to Bingaman and Specter. Now we can see what we’d get for our money, and we may as well just build a giant bonfire with the cash and enjoy toasting marshmallows over it.
For reference purposes, the current level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is about 380 parts per million. The EPA estimates that if no action is taken to curb CO2 emissions, the atmospheric concentration of CO2 would be 718 ppm by 2095.
If the Bingaman-Specter bill were implemented, however, the EPA estimates that CO2 levels would be 695 ppm — a whopping reduction of 23 ppm.
Like the Kyoto Treaty, little or nothing will be accomplished at the cost of trillions of dollars and who knows how many lost jobs.
Politicians love to pass laws that look like they’re doing something positive. But the only thing they accomplish most of the time is throwing more of our money away.

Good News DuJourIt’s nice to see some common sense show up in England from time to time.
Schools will have to issue a warning before they show pupils Al Gore’s controversial film about global warming, a judge indicated yesterday.
The move follows a High Court action by a father who accused the Government of ‘brainwashing’ children with propaganda by showing it in the classroom.
Stewart Dimmock said the former U.S. Vice-President’s documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, is unfit for schools because it is politically biased and contains serious scientific inaccuracies and ‘sentimental mush’.
He wants the video banned after it was distributed with four other short films to 3,500 schools in February.
Mr Justice Burton is due to deliver a ruling on the case next week, but yesterday he said he would be saying that Gore’s Oscar-winning film does promote ‘partisan political views’.
Even if you agree that Man Made Climate Change is happening, Gore’s predictions are laughable. No scientists backs them. Many have spoken out against the film’s hysteria. Add to that the fact the film is largely a piece of self promotion and you have to wonder why its even being shown in schools.
The film is propaganda. At least one court has the good sense to call it what it is.
UPDATE: CNN’s Meteorologist agrees.

See Ya, DemsI’ve warned that this would happen. The usual suspects and hacks have been using Global Warming as a scare tool to squeeze more money out of us and limit our freedoms, just as they claim the war on terror is doing. So here comes the squeeze. But I don’t think the Dems will like the backlash.
Dealing with global warming will be painful, says one of the most powerful Democrats in Congress. To back up his claim he is proposing a recipe many people won’t like _ a 50-cent gasoline tax, a carbon tax and scaling back tax breaks for some home owners.
“I’m trying to have everybody understand that this is going to cost and that it’s going to have a measure of pain that you’re not going to like,” Rep. John Dingell, who is marking his 52nd year in Congress, said Wednesday in an interview with The Associated Press.
Dingell will offer a “discussion draft” outlining his tax proposals on Thursday, the same day that President Bush holds a two-day conference to discuss voluntary efforts to combat climate change.
But Dingell, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee that will craft climate legislation, is making it clear that he believes tackling global warming will require a lot more if it is to be taken seriously.
“This is going to cause pain,” he said, adding that he wants to make certain “the pain is shared in a way that is fair, proper, acceptable and accomplishes the basic purpose” of reducing greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels.
So they want to raise our taxes till it hurts. And all for an unproven theory which is finding more and more as people start to talk back. You already know my position. I think man-made global warming is another scam from the same people who constantly like to raise our taxes and whittle away at our freedoms. All in the name of “protecting us”. Because they know that we wouldn’t consent to this crap if it was in the name of screwing us, which is exactly what its all about.
I am hoping that this ends up causing the Dems no end of grief. Let’s face it, public opinion of Congress is approaching a zero favorability. If you ask me, they deserve much worse.

Hansen Busted Again
GW hack and “father of Global Warming” James Hansen is revealed to be all about the benjamins, just like he accuses anyone who is skeptical of global warming. And once more this sheds light on how disreputable the GW alarmists really are if people bother to dig deep for information.
How many people, for instance, know that James Hansen, a man billed as a lonely “NASA whistleblower” standing up to the mighty U.S. government, was really funded by Soros’ Open Society Institute , which gave him “legal and media advice”?
That’s right, Hansen was packaged for the media by Soros’ flagship “philanthropy,” by as much as $720,000, most likely under the OSI’s “politicization of science” program.
That may have meant that Hansen had media flacks help him get on the evening news to push his agenda and lawyers pressuring officials to let him spout his supposedly “censored” spiel for weeks in the name of advancing the global warming agenda.
I’m sure this isn’t the last time we hear something bad about Hansen. And he’s one of the biggest “experts” the GW shriekers trot out.
The politicization of science is something the Communists used to do. And it always leads to bad results. Science and Politics don’t mix. Any scientist who tries to enable the politicians for some agenda in this way should be drummed out of their position.

Stupidity AlertThe 2007 Nobel Peace Prize could go to a climate campaigner such as ex-U.S. Vice-President Al Gore or Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier, reinforcing a view that global warming is a threat to world security, experts say.
The winner of the $1.5 million prize, perhaps the world’s top accolade, will be announced in Oslo on October 12 from a field of 181 candidates. The prize can be split up to three ways.
“There are reasonably good chances that the peace prize will be awarded to someone working to stop the dramatic climate problems the world is facing,” said Boerge Brende, a former Norwegian environment minister.
They also gave the Nobel prize to Yasser Arafat and Jimmy Carter. Not top mention more than a couple frauds. Oops. I repeated myself.

Hansen BustedThe chief global warming hack, James Hansen, who is often referred to as the “father of global warming” has been caught lying on several occasions. Most recently when NASA was found to be using false record dates for temperatures. Now he’s been caught in another falsehood. It’s time this dufus is written off as the attention whore that whe is.
Did NASA scientist James Hansen, the global warming alarmist in chief, once believe we were headed for . . . an ice age? An old Washington Post story indicates he did.
On July 9, 1971, the Post published a story headlined “U.S. Scientist Sees New Ice Age Coming.” It told of a prediction by NASA and Columbia University scientist S.I. Rasool. The culprit: man’s use of fossil fuels.
The Post reported that Rasool, writing in Science, argued that in “the next 50 years” fine dust that humans discharge into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuel will screen out so much of the sun’s rays that the Earth’s average temperature could fall by six degrees.
Sustained emissions over five to 10 years, Rasool claimed, “could be sufficient to trigger an ice age.”
Aiding Rasool’s research, the Post reported, was a “computer program developed by Dr. James Hansen,” who was, according to his resume, a Columbia University research associate at the time.
These people don’t understand anything about the climate if they think humans can so easily affect it. More importantly, when they make alarmist claims that would have major impacts on the world economy and laws, all of which would be negative, it’s time we (the people) stopped listening to these charlatans. They are like the crazy man shouting from the street corner.

GW Takes Another HitAs time goes by, and the GW shills began to get more absurd with their shrieking, expect to see more scientists come out against this farce.
A new analysis of peer-reviewed literature reveals that more than 500 scientists have published evidence refuting at least one element of current man-made global warming scares. More than 300 of the scientists found evidence that 1) a natural moderate 1,500-year climate cycle has produced more than a dozen global warmings similar to ours since the last Ice Age and/or that 2) our Modern Warming is linked strongly to variations in the sun’s irradiance. “This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims that a scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of global temperature increases since 1850,” said Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Dennis Avery.
Other researchers found evidence that 3) sea levels are failing to rise importantly; 4) that our storms and droughts are becoming fewer and milder with this warming as they did during previous global warmings; 5) that human deaths will be reduced with warming because cold kills twice as many people as heat; and 6) that corals, trees, birds, mammals, and butterflies are adapting well to the routine reality of changing climate.
Despite being published in such journals such as Science, Nature and Geophysical Review Letters, these scientists have gotten little media attention. “Not all of these researchers would describe themselves as global warming skeptics,” said Avery, “but the evidence in their studies is there for all to see.”
The names were compiled by Avery and climate physicist S. Fred Singer, the co-authors of the new book Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, mainly from the peer-reviewed studies cited in their book. The researchers’ specialties include tree rings, sea levels, stalagmites, lichens, pollen, plankton, insects, public health, Chinese history and astrophysics.

Sad: Bill Nye Vs Richard LindzenBill Nye turns out to be a GW believer. His arguments (and the other GW shill’s on here) are the usual hackneyed (and false) consensus IPCC drivel. Lindzen points out that much of the predictions aren’t even happening. Julian Morris points out things are improving for humans, not getting worse. Glad to see some rational people getting to talk for a change. What’s sad is I like Bill Nye in general. He has been a good advocate for science. But he has been caught up in the PC tide of GW cant

The Great Global Warming SwindleFor those of you who missed it the first time, here is the British documentary that exposes many of the lies and falsehoods of the Global Warming movement.
The GW shills tried to discredit it, but the facts of the documentary do a great deal of damage to their credibility. And their arguments are as bogus as ever. I recommend this if you haven’t seen it because it shows the most obvious reason for global warming. It’s called the sun.
Here is the producer’s page if you want to order a DVD. The GW hacks have tried to get the DVD release stopped. They say it will be coming out soon.
