Obama’s Glass House

Obama ran this ad which is typical class warfare stuff the Democrats always fall back on. The problem with this is, most people would like to be as rich as McCain. Class warfare only works for Marxists.

McCain’s response. Ouch.

Obama is also kind of a hypocrite when he has siblings living in abject poverty he’s done nothing for. Not even a fruitcake for Christmas. Oh, wait...does he celebrate Christmas?

By the way, one of my favorite PJM bloggers, Baldilocks has a lot in common with Obama, and has plenty to say about him, Once again, he looks like a hypocrite. .

UPDATE: Oops. Another argument bites the dust.

John McCain’s family owns at least eight properties — not the seven Democrats are alleging or the four McCain’s staff identified — according to a Politico analysis of property and tax records, as well as interviews.

The presumptive Republican nominee, though, may have some wiggle room in explaining why he couldn’t immediately provide an answer when asked by Politico how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own. Sen. McCain himself does not own any of the properties. They’re all owned by Cindy McCain, her dependent children and the trusts and companies they control.

That Time Again

It’s another election season and I find myself torn. I really hate politics and only talk about them because it’s like a disaster that sparks conversation. I generally dislike politicians in the sense that they all have a hand in the super-sized mess called our government, which is running the worst deficits in the history of the human race. Both parties have a blame for this travesty. And both aren’t doing much to solve it if anything.

It’s just one of the reasons I’m an independent and do not endorse either party. And for just about as long as I remember, I have not liked my choices every 4 years. This year is no exception. I pick on Obama more because he’s the presumed leader, if the media is to be believed. And of the two candidates, I think he’s the worse of the two.

I really don’t want to talk about politics on here to be honest, because I think politics can ruin a good site. But, I talk about whatever’s on my mind and damn if this junk is unavoidable. I wish it wasn’t.  I spend a lot of time reading political blogs on both sides and I’m especially appalled by how radically disingenuous and false the so called progressive blogs are. They seem to be getting worse all the time. There seems to be no association with reality anymore. It’s all the end of the world, and only Obama can save us, no Hillary. You’d think by now people would get it that neither Dems or Republicans really make that big of a change. And whatever gains get made are soon undone by the next guy.

Without a real purge of these politicians, things aren’t likely to get better.

I suppose that’s why there are still people who think a leftist overthrow is the answer. But all they have to do is look and see how well that worked out wherever it has happened. It only brings totalitarian governments and economic slow decline. Say hello to Zimbabwe, at the far end of that slope. Castro’s Cuba is Chavez’ Venezuela in 40 years on if he keeps it up. No thanks. Besides, whoever thought that elimination of property was a good idea obviously didn’t understand human nature. It’s no surprise that Castro owns a lot of cars, or that every other Commie dictator was a materialistic Scarface wannabe.

Personally, I lean towards free market libertarian ideals, but I know many of those would have a hard time working because, again, human nature is what it is. Ultimately, that’s what screws up any system. And until people grow up in some way and become more rational, that’s unlikely to change.

So here I am, bombarded by political ads every two years, most of them are crap. I’m glad I only watch limited TV right now. I’ve taken to downloading a lot of my shows to avoid commercials.

But I am looking forward to next week’s Dem convention. It might actually be entertaining for all the wrong reasons. We’ll see if Hillary makes it a huge mess. They say they are united. Somehow, I think not.

Censorship

NBC has been working hard to make a shout out to Bush by two American Volleyball winners at the Olympics go away. They are trying to shutdown anyone who posts it, yet tons of Olympic videos are all over YouTube and other places.

A Case for Hillary

The big question is, will the Dems drop Obama? I don’t think so. They never like to admit they’re wrong. They love to chide Bush for that sin, but it’s really one of the Dems biggest weaknesses. Hubris.

If they manage to install Hillary as the candidate now, I suspect it will backfire big time. Obamaniacs will not show up at the polls. Hillary will lose big. If Obama is the candidate, the writing is already on the wall. As I said months ago, the Obama balloon will deflate the more people get to know him. He’s just a pretty face in an empty suit.

Done.

This Peugeot 360 is kind of cool. Don’t know how the ride would be with those spheres replacing tires.

REVIEW: Persepolis

image

I finally got around to watching this French animated film based on a graphic novel about a young Iranian girl named Marjane Satrapi, who grew up during the Iranian revolution and the Iran/Iraq war. It’s a fascinating tale and gives a peek into the average Iranian’s life. Marjane loves rock music and western culture. She ends up spending some time in Vienna only to find the Europeans she meets there are jaded and take their freedoms for granted. A return to Iran shows her how repressive the religious regime is, and how it’s keeping the Iranians down trodden. Before, she didn’t realize how bad it was because that was all she knew.

I recommend the film. It’s always good to try to see how other people live in places you only hear limited things about, so you can get an appreciate for their problems. If this film is any indication, the people of Iran would like to live the way we do. Hopefully, someday they will be able to.
