Crybaby of the Day

It’s one thing to cry over lost work (never done it myself). It’s another thing to have a meltdown over lost work that would ruin your career if you did it, or make you out to look like a bigger joke than you are already. Paula Abdul was crazy to take on this Hey, Paula show. It’s a 30 minute train wreck every week.

And she seemed to have cleaned up her act on last season’s American Idol. Oh, well.

They Have to Stop

I agree with most of these. Movies they need to stop making. Though I am curious about The Brave One, which stars Jodie Foster in a Female Death Wish. That might be interesting. The last time I recall a movie like that was the abysmal, I spit on Your Grave. So, who knows. But it is directed by Neil Jordan who is an excellent director. We shall see.

I could list a bunch of other bad cliche movies. I really don’t want to see another film with the title: “Meet The (Fill in the blank)”. Someone should put a moratorium on that.

Real Life Sea Monsters

Fascinating stuff. When I was a kid I wanted to be a marine biologist. We’re still finding unique species down there.

One More Day

One more day of boxing and sorting and throwing stuff away. Then I am out of here. I pack it all up on Wednesday and hot the road, Jack.

It’s hard to believe but the new Blog-O-Rama will be coming to you from the Great Northwest.

I am putting together a new logo for that day. In the meantime, back to the grind.

Ouch of the Day

“I’m not thinking of it as a role that anyone’s played before. I’m not walking into Katie Holmes’ performance. I’m thinking of it as an opportunity to play somebody who’s alive and smart. Chris (Nolan) asked me to do this because he wanted me, not because he wants some generic lady in a dress.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal on taking over the Rachel Dawes role in the Batman Movies from Katie Holmes.

Speaking of the Cruises, this runs a close second to Ouch of the Day

PSA DuJour

Since this blog got a G rating, I decided to spice things up a little. So here’s a PSA from the 1960s good for a few laughs. IF George Putnam were alive today, boy would he be upset (or happy).

UPDATE: George Putnam is alive and well at 92, still working on the radio and doing podcasts.
