This Just In

And from Reuters no less...

Three New York rescue workers injured in the September 11 attacks got the best treatment Cuba can offer in Michael Moore’s film critique of U.S. health care, the Cuban doctors who attended them said this week.

The 9/11 responders spent 10 days on the 19th floor of Cuba’s flagship hospital with a view of the Caribbean sea, a sharp contrast to many Cuban hospitals that are crumbling, badly lit, and which lack equipment and medicines.

Of course, Cuba didn’t charge for it. But then, it’s a propaganda effort.

And I Thought My Typos Were Bad

Courtney Love’s blog has to be seen to be believed. L33tspeak’s got nothing on this girl.

Pollution in China

Check out these pictures and then compare it to here. We have a much cleaner place, by far. Despite all the constant harping on the US.

The Babes of Comicon

I’m not going this year because I am moving, but here are some of the women who will be there.

I met Jewel years ago. I didn’t know she had a show now.

Big Surprise of the Day

Nigerian schoolchildren who received laptops from a U.S. aid organisation have used them to explore pornographic sites on the Internet, the official News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported on Thursday.

NAN said its reporter had seen pornographic images stored on several of the children’s laptops.

“Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials,” NAN said.

Both Parties are Crooks

Trillions of dollars have gone missing from the Federal government and no one is doing anything about it. If you tried to run a business you had thousands, or millions missing, someone would have to pay. Someone would get fined at the very least, or get dragged through court. They lost Trillions. Not billions. TRILLIONS of dollars. And no one or thing is being held accountable. Think of that next time some politician wants to raise taxes or talks about people not paying their “fair share”

We really need to send most of the politicians home and a severe housecleaning of government agencies needs to happen, because that’s where a lot of the problems lie. because crooks in power are stealing from the people and bankrupting us. It’s like a Mafia bustout.

Media Myth Busters

A new site has been created to deal with the problem of media myths. Kind of a Snopes for the newsmedia.

More on that here.

I Got the Moving Blues

Sorry about the light blogging. I am busy packing boxes and sorting out the stuff I’m getting rid of before I move on Wednesday. Even though I try not to be a pack rat anymore (I used to be one), there is still a lot of material I’ve been keeping for years. I keep meaning to sort it out and never get around to it. That includes tons of miscellany stacked up in my garage. I am finally going to deal with it, but it’s taking time. And being in that hot garage in Vegas summer weather isn’t what I would call fun. On the other hand I’m probably sweating off a 20 pounds in the process, so it can’t be that bad.
