The Obama MythWhile I generally like Obama, I have no plans on voting for him. I prefer him to Hillary by a country mile, but he doesn’t inspire enough confidence in me to want him as president. For one thing, he offers the same old Democrat stateism and big spending, while claiming to want to solve budget problems. For another, he is still a race candidate, no matter how much he tries to claim otherwise. And a classic example of this is his recent speech which inspired a lot of fawning adulation from the usual suspects (this one made me laugh. Obsequious?Just a tad). Others have not been so kind. Charles Krauthammer, for example, asks a very simple question.
If Wright is a man of the past, why would you expose your children to his vitriolic divisiveness? This is a man who curses America and who proclaimed moral satisfaction in the deaths of 3,000 innocents at a time when their bodies were still being sought at Ground Zero. It is not just the older congregants who stand and cheer and roar in wild approval of Wright’s rants, but young people as well. Why did you give $22,500 just two years ago to a church run by a man of the past who infects the younger generation with precisely the racial attitudes and animus you say you have come unto us to transcend?
Not only that, Obama was a member of this church for 20 years,
Shelby Steele explained Obama as a “bargainer”, His bit is to make whites think voting for him is a way to purge themselves of guilt for stuff they didn’t do but have been made to feel ashamed of their whole lives. Thomas Sowell breaks his speech down even further. I’d say its obvious that the people who love Obama probably thought the speech was brilliant. The rest of us either shrugged or dismissed it entirely.
I think Obama is a vast improvement over black politicians we’ve had in the past. He’s no Jesse or Sharpton. He does come off very presidential. But the fact is, He is running for president without even finishing his first term in office. His foreign policy is incredibly naive. And despite his protestations to the contrary, he is still coming from an angry mob position if he hangs out with this church.
Sure, he probably went there so he would have street cred in his city. He’s too “white seeming” for some. There was a lot of questions about his “blackness” in the early days of his campaign.
The problem is, in order to transcend race, you have to put it behind you. He hasn’t done that. He shows no willingness to do that. And I think that will be his downfall.
After Hillary is done trying to hurt him, and she crashes and burns, McCain will have a fairly easy job winning the White House. It’s still to early to call the General Election, but the Dems ar destroying themselves better than anything Karl Rove could have dreamed up.
UPDATE Obama’s racist rant. It’s like saying typical black men are bred to be better athletes. If he was white and made that coment about blacks he’d be crucified by the media.
John Kerry unwittingly reveals the weakness of Obama, while praising him, and showing once again that he is a dolt.

Some interesting trivia. I didn’t know a few of these.

A new theory pretty much dispels Global Warming as ever being a real threat. Instead, it threatens the AGW industry which has been growing unabated.
Miklós Zágoni isn’t just a physicist and environmental researcher. He is also a global warming activist and Hungary’s most outspoken supporter of the Kyoto Protocol. Or was.
That was until he learned the details of a new theory of the greenhouse effect, one that not only gave far more accurate climate predictions here on Earth, but Mars too. The theory was developed by another Hungarian scientist, Ferenc Miskolczi, an atmospheric physicist with 30 years of experience and a former researcher with NASA’s Langley Research Center.
After studying it, Zágoni stopped calling global warming a crisis, and has instead focused on presenting the new theory to other climatologists. The data fit extremely well. “I fell in love,” he stated at the International Climate Change Conference this week.
“Runaway greenhouse theories contradict energy balance equations,” Miskolczi states. Just as the theory of relativity sets an upper limit on velocity, his theory sets an upper limit on the greenhouse effect, a limit which prevents it from warming the Earth more than a certain amount.
Read it and weep, AGW drones.
