American Idol Top 5

I missed it last night and it wasn’t available for download from my usual source. Which is too bad. I hear Paula really made a fool of herself,

The problem with this season is I don’t have a horse in this race, and none of these contestants make me really want to see them next week. A lot of them are good, but no one is exciting. So I have been just downloading the episode and watching it at my leisure. But my usual source of downloads didn’t provide one for last night.

Ah well, I’ll seee if I can find a copy just because I want to see how badly they mangled Neil Diamond songs.  .

Ramsey’s Scrambled Eggs

For me, the most entertaining show on Tuesday right now isn’t American Idol. It’s Hell’s Kitchen, where Gordon Ramsey play’s drill instructor to a bunch of chefs who want to win a job working for him. Here’s the chef showing how he makes scrambled eggs.

Reactable Sound Device

We’ll see many applications of surface computer interfaces in the near future. Here’s one that’s used for music.

Seasteading

A group of people are looking for others to create cities in the sea. Sounds like the plot of a James Bond film. But I can understand people being dissatisfied with thw way things are on land.

Having lived on islands more than once (Hawaii, England) you can’t look for paradise where people are.

Katherine Jenkins

I came across this lady while looking for music on various download sites. I checked out a few of her tracks and became a fan. She does some really great versions of classic songs, including some pop. She’s not well known over in the US, but I hear she’s fairly big in the UK.

The Real Face of Lions

Lots of pictures and an interesting article about how lions really live. It goes well with that video I posted the other day,.

This one is my favorite. A libertarian seagull.

Lots more here.
