2007 Breakthroughs
Popular Mechanics 2007 Breakthrough Awards showcase some amazing inventions you’ve got to see. From 3D printers to micro-wind generators that cost a few dollars to cyborg arms. Human beings are always coming up with better technologies to do things. This is why I constantly rag on the hysterics and negativity people who think all humankind does is “kill the planet”. The truth is, people are coming up with cleaner, smarter technologies all the time. And these will supplant the crude stuff we have now, just as what we have now replaced crude stuff from earlier generations.
Progress marches on. And when the public demands cleaner technologies, scientists and engineers rush to create new onss.
About those 3d printers…
Editor John Campbell of Analog Science Fiction/Science Fact was writing about them back around 1968. Such an advance.
