2007 Predictions
Here they are, my predictions for 2007
1. Wild global warming predictions like this one will fail to come true this year, aside from some unseasonably warm weather in some locations. In any event, such weather will not cause significant problems.
2. Democrats will fail to achieve some of their goals in the first 100 hours. In some cases, later in the year, they will try to ram things through only to be vetoed by Bush.
3. The Democrats will investigate the Bush administration from every angle, and in doing so will end up wearing out their welcome by over playing their hand. The media will take their side, but the public will get tired of it as they drag out until the next election cycle.
4. Hillary will have trouble getting traction in her run for President.
5. Obama will start strong, but will see his popularity drop the more the public gets to know him.
6. John Kerry will continue to make a fool of himself. He will get nowhere.
7. Michael Moore’s new movie Sicko will fail to be as successful as his previous films.
8. Oil prices will drop again. But gas prices will rise in the summer.
9. The Dow will cross 13,000 later in the year.
10. The housing market will recover later in the year.
11. Bush’s immigration reform will pass with the Democrats support. Leading to more illegal immitration than ever before.
12. Guiliani will be in the lead among the Republicans for 2008.
13. Inflation will go up, as will interest rates. But Bush will try to get the fed to cut them to help the housing market rebound.
14. Political shakeups in Iran.
15. I will get at least one comic book out later next year.
16. Apple will unveil their rumored iphone.
17. Wii will beat PS3

In the wake of the attacks on 9/11, Giuliani was widely hailed for his decisive and undaunted leadership during the crisis. For this, he was named TIME magazine’s Person of the Year for 2001, and given an honorary knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II on February 13, 2002.
BarackObama may be too young and too unseasoned; but, I love the way he speaks. His words move me...but then as I’ve told you before, I’m a centrist that leans toward the democratic, libertarian view points. Obama may be a very hard sell to the American public, but I think Giuliani might be a problem for the far right of the Republican Party. Dare I use the phrase “split the party?” Do I smell a prediction coming on?
Me, Wikipedia, and just a few minutes of research...what would real effort uncover. I don’t believe a politician is ever perfect, but many Americans still search for one. If he were a democrat, I’d vote for Giuliani myself.
And you think Bill Clinton was a hard sell in the South?
• Giuliani is a Roman Catholic.
• Giuliani has had three marriages.
• The first marriage, to Regina Peruggi, was annulled after fourteen years, according to Giuliani, because he discovered he and his wife were second cousins.
• In April 1999, Giuliani began to seek the Republican nomination to fill the seat vacated by the retiring Daniel Patrick Moynihan. On May 19, 2000, before the Republican primary, which he was expected to win, he withdrew his candidacy because of prostate cancer, the Farmersville Garbage Scandal which significantly reduced his support in his core upstate counties, and the fallout from his affair and messy divorce from his wife Donna Hanover. During the ill-fated campaign, Giuliani was forced to confess to his marital infidelities and, in the process, lost a further significant base of electoral support.
• Giuliani highlighted crime reduction and law enforcement as central missions of his mayoralty throughout both terms, efforts which largely met with success. Concurrent with his achievements, a number of tragic cases of abuse of authority took place, and numerous allegations of civil rights abuses were leveled.
• Giuliani has been criticized for embracing illegal immigration. In April 2006, Giuliani went on the record as favoring the US Senate’s comprehensive immigration plan which includes a path to citizenship and a guest worker plan• In 1999 Giuliani threatened to cut off city funding for the Brooklyn Museum if the museum did not remove a number of works in an exhibit entitled “Sensation: Young British Artists from the Saatchi Collection.” In its defense, the museum filed a lawsuit, charging Giuliani with violating the First Amendment right to freedom of speech. The museum’s lawsuit was successful.
Posted by on 01/01 at 10:50 PMGuiliani has his faults, no argument there, He is also bald and we haven’t had a bald president since Eisenhower (Ford had receding hair when he was prez).
However, he has a better personality and is a better speaker than most and he has a pretty good record over all, as a DA fighting the mob and the man who cleaned up NYC when no one thought it possible. He is also a big nanny stater and he has been for gun control and some other things I don’t like. However, McCain is the only other choice that might have a shot and he is too damaged. The other Republicans so far look too boring.
Of course, these primaries can be unpredictable. Kerry didn’t have a chance in 2004 until Dean self destructed and he ws next in line.
Obama is a good speaker, but anyone who runs for president before serving a full term of his first year in office is not worth the trouble (See John Edwards)
