American Idol: 4/17

I had a feeling country week would spell the doom of Sanjaya malakar. And I may be right this time. Dial Idol has him dead last. Of course, they have had a bad track record this year. But they got scarily accurate the closer they got to the end of the season. I’d say Sanjaya needs to sweat a little.

Melinda and Jordin were the stand out performers of the night. They both looked radient, and they both out sang everyone else.

Phil Stacy also did a great job, just not as good. I think however, he showed that country worked well with his style.

Sanjaya was a train wreck. And he came out with a doo rag that made him look like a janitor lady. On top of that he sang a girl’s song. Is he going to be in drag next time?

Actually, I don’t expect there to be a next time. Well, one can hope anyway.

UPDATE: Ouch!

I think the other person who could lose tonight is Lakisha. She has become too borig and divaish since her first, great performance. Now she seems to be sleep walking trhrough the show. She ignores the advice she is given every week. Last night she seemed to cop an attitude when she was critiqued. I think it’ll be this week or next that she goes. Hopefully it’ll be Sanjaya tonight.

THERE IS A GOD! SANJAYA IS OUT!

Sanjaya was PAINFUL last night......and hard to look at! That doo-rag was hideous. I thought it would be a cowboy hat. He HAS to go!!
My fav right now as an overall ‘Idol’ would have to be Jordin. Fantastic voice & cute as she could be. Great personality too.

Yeah, Jordin is great. I think she definitely has star quality.

I like Melinda, even though she needs to loosen up bit. She kind of stands then hunched over half the time when she sings. But that’s my only complaint.

If not Sanjaya, then Lakisha should go home or even Chris.  They were all lousy last night.

Melinda song choice by Julie Reeves personally ticked me off a bit.  Julie’s uncle was the former mayor of Ashland, KY that is still in prison for child porn charges.  I have personal reasons for disliking paul reeves.  SPIT!

I know I shouldn’t hold Julie accountable for her uncle’s actions but…

Jordin did a phenominal job on ‘Broken Wing’.  Phil finally hit his stride last night.  I’ve been telling my friends to tell his Aunt to tell him to loosen up.  Don’t worry about what the judges think, she show that he has a great voice.  Again, the guest coach mentioned how she loved his voice.  4 for 4 now, that I can remember.  Don’t remember what Diana Ross said, but Noone, Bennett, Lopez, and McBride all loved his voice. 

I heard next week will be inspriational songs.  Has anyone else heard that?

The Idol Gives back week will be about inspirational songs, and that’s next week. So Yep.

I think Piul is this years Elliott Yamin. Both started off very weak and got better as they went along. Phile shows a lot of improvement from week to week. But why, oh, why didn’t he wear a cowboy hat? Or is that taboo since Brokeback Mountain?

I still love Melinda.  Phil makes me feel uncomfortable when he sings without expression.

I figured out why Blake’s moth looks weird when he sings. He never reveals any teeth. Most people smile or something when they sing. He never does. He needs to start doing that, because it’s a little distracting.

Love Jordin, Melinda & Phil.  Hate Chris & Sanjaya.  Blake is just okay for me (to quote Randy).  The professionals are right on with liking Phil’s voice, he has much greater potential than any of the other guys.
