Another Clue Bat Experience

The AGW weenies never learn. Nature likes to rain on parades. Reality doesn’t care about ideology.

A North Pole expedition meant to bring attention to global warming was called off after one of the explorers got frostbite. The explorers, Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen, on Saturday called off what was intended to be a 530-mile trek across the Arctic Ocean after Arnesen suffered frostbite in three of her toes, and extreme cold temperatures drained the batteries in some of their electronic equipment.

“Ann said losing toes and going forward at all costs was never part of the journey,” said Ann Atwood, who helped organize the expedition.

  1. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

It’s called the North Pole for a reason, stupids!

(Makes you wonder how Santa Claus lives there!)

  2. Remember all the fuss about the NW Passage opening?  Know why that dropped out of the headlines?  Because if you actually look at the report, the total ice coverage in the Arctic had increased, but mostly on the other side of the pole (for unknown reasons).  Furthermore, it was pointed out that the NW Passage opens regularly and boats have often passed through it (Amundsen did it in 1903 and 1906). It’s just not reliable enough to be commercially viable.
BTW, the latest scam is bumping the number of tropical depressions named as tropical storms.  This has gotten flagrant enough that a number of prominent meteorologists are protesting.  My friends in the Caymans are pissed because tropical storm activity is one of the metrics used to price their hurricane insurance.

  4. One would have thought that Bancroft, at least, would know better.  She’s been to the pole before, and, in ‘86, was part of a party that reached the pole with only dogs for transport - the first since 1909 to make it to the pole without other logistical support…

  5. Toren, we’re now talking about a year round opening of the NWP. I also must ask if the extra ice off Russia’s Arctic coast means what you think it means.

That’s the money quote.  What? were they expecting a tropical hike?  Maybe they will sue Goracle for misleading them as how warm it was up there.  Sign ‘em up for the Darwin Awards.
