Bam! McCain’s Pick

I sure hope Obama and the Dems enjoyed their little self congratulation festival last night, because they’re waking up to a major hangover today. John McCain picked Sarah Palin, as I thought he might (and should). That’s going to make Obama’s slog a whole lot harder from here on out. Not only will the media jump all over this, it will pretty much bury Obama’s post convention buzz. Further, it gives all those angry Hillary voters somewhere to go. They wanted a woman president, well, here’s a VP. Only a 72 year old man’s heartbeat away from the presidency.
And like McCain, this woman is not a follower. She does what she thinks is right and from what little I have read on her, I’m impressed.
Palin has a long history of run-ins with the Alaska GOP hierarchy, giving her genuine maverick status and reformer credentials that could complement McCain’s image.
Two years ago, she ousted the state’s Republican incumbent governor, Frank Murkowski in the primary, despite having little money and little establishment backing.
She has also distanced herself from two senior Republican office-holders, sen. Ted Stevens and Rep. Don young. Both men are under federal corruption investigations.
She had earned stripes — and enmity — after Murkowski made her head of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. From that post, she exposed ethical violations by the state GOP chairman, also a fellow commissioner.
She does not care what party someone is in, she despises corruption. Excellent. She also has a lot of bonafides I like.
McCain just kicked Obama in the nuts. Or, to put it another way, he drinks Obama’s milkshake by taking away all those angry women Dem voters.
From There Will Be Blood
UPDATE: The Democrats wasted no time attacking her. I love how they say the Republicans picked a vice-president with no experience. Uh…that’s better than a PRESIDENT with no experience. Besides, she has way more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined. American Thinker has answers to the Dems attacks.
