Congrats, Michael Symon
I’m a big fan of the Iron Chef show. They just finished the Next Iron Chef series and Michael Symon, from Cleveland, won. You can watch all the episodes here.
I had been rooting for Symon from about the second episode. I used to watch his show Melting Pot and always liked his funny laugh and good character. I had a feeling the combination of his persona and professionalism would help him win the day.
Symon won 4 of the episodes of a six-part series. It should have been a lock. While his competitors were good, John Besh seemed to be is closest match, and indeed, he finished second. I was disappointed that Chef Morou didn’t last longer since he seemed the most creative. But they got him on his fussy plating style. He doesn’t like his food to touch.
Anyway, I like the Food Network because there’s no politics. It’s educational. I’ve learned to eat a lot better and cook better and it’s made a difference in my life.
It’s also nice to watch something where people get along and work together on something. What a rarity these days.
