Court Sanctions Terrorism
A British Court sanctioned the acts of eco-vandals after alleged scientist and media whore James Hansen testified it was OK to do so on grounds of global warming.
In a monumental ruling, a British jury acquitted six Greenpeace activists of criminal damage charges stemming from what the activists said was an attempt to shut down a coal-fired power plant. The jury decided that the activists’ action was justifiable because the plant, which emits 20,000 tons of CO2 every day, will hold some blame for immense damage caused by global warming in the future.
It’s a good thing all they did was paint something on a wall. But this ruling could make other groups a lot more bold. Not a good thing when they think the ends justify the means, and they’re protesting something that arguably doesn’t exist.
Gee,
What do you think will happen when an eco-terrorist kills somebody at a powerplant or SUV luxury lot?
It’s going to be okay for a jury (or heaven help us) appointed judge to say it’s okay and slap the criminal on the wrist?
I don’t know what people are thinking anymore!
Call it a crime but don’t use political correctness and unfounded science to justify punishment and give something a new label! There is something morally wrong here. And the UK just keeps getting sicker and sicker and more out-of-touch with reality.
It’s not just this site that I’m reading crazy stuff happening over in the UK. It’s links from political newsblogs and other places. The British are increasingly losing all common sense!
Posted by on 09/12 at 12:14 AMIt’s a pretty horrible situation because the way the law is written, the vandals only have to sincerely believe that what they are doing is right and they get off scot free. So even if they are provably wrong by scientific or other methods, they still can legally get away with it. I expect really bad things to come out of this.
Just another flush of the once-great UK down the toilet.Posted by on 09/12 at 12:17 AM
