Deer
I saw a family of deer in my next door neighbor’s yard this morning. A four point buck and three does. Alas, if I got out of my car to get my camera, they would have been spooked. They were watching me watch them.
I live out in the country, right on the edge of town next to a big lake. I was wondering when that would happen.
While I’m not surprised I saw them, Deer can show up in the strangest places.
I see animals like that from time to time at work or occasionally when driving.
At work, I’ve seen skunks, deer, and plenty of cats roaming the area through the security cameras.
Driving behind the local Wal-Mart, I once saw a coyote (yes, they have them in Ohio—even in the suburbs of Columbus!) running alongside the road.
Wild animals adapt remarkably to human settlings… and even thrive as the case is with deer and coyote.
I haven’t seen as much of or smelled skunk a lot this year. Either they’ve become road pizza or easy killings for one of the predators in the area.
