Dolt of the Day
Barack Obama can’t help it if he’s a magna cum laude Harvard grad and you’re a Wal-Mart shopper who resurfaces driveways with your brother-in-law. Americans are so narcissistic that our candidates have to be just like us. That’s why George Bush is president.
Bill Maher
Sorry, Bill, but Bush has a Harvard MBA. He’s an Ivy League graduate. But then, this is the kind of smug conceit you’d expect from a so called media elite. This is why people are embracing Palin in droves and rejecting the empty promises of a Jimmy Carter wanna be. They’re sick of the elites and politicians running things. Obama is nothing new, other than he’s black. He is your typical Ivy League lefty politician. (see John Kerry, et al)
I used to like Maher before he got such a swelled head and came out swinging against mainstream religion 24/7 and in general just acting like a misogynist pr!ck while skewering everything dear to people-not-in-the-media.
I noticed the change when Politically Incorrect moved from Comedy Central to ABC… He’s gotten even worse after ABC cancelled the show and he took his act on to HBO.
It’s laughable that Maher still insisted on calling himself a Libertarian after the network switches. After hanging around so many celebrities and going to too many Playboy Mansion parties he’s become the very emblem of the kind of celebrity the average American hates.
Notice I did not say, “Loves to hate.” Maher’s just plain hateful, and, of course, gets protected by the media elite whenever he appears on any cable news show.
Posted by on 09/08 at 10:00 AMI’m confused, I thought lefties were always about supporting “the working man” and stuff. Why is he praising Obama for being a Havard grad, and then insulting the vast majority of average American workers??
Gotta love the left and their hypocrisy. They seem to expose themselves as hypocrates everyday. And yet somehow the media is able to make people not notice this.
Posted by TJ_X on 09/08 at 10:53 AMI wish I had saved an article I read teh other day, it showed how the deeper blue a state is, the more segregated it is. The voters in places like Washington DC are very pro Democrat, but they are almost as segregated as the old south. The rich (mostly white) live in their enclaves, the poor (mostly black) live in their areas.
The states where blacks and whites (or rich and poor) are more equal tend to be pro-Republican.
No what does that tell you about which side is more for the people?
Posted by on 09/08 at 11:26 AMI once did that research myself out of curiosity after seeing a speaker in San Francisco praise San Franciscans for being so racially tolerant. As the crowd broke into self-congratulatory applause I noticed there wasn’t a non-white person in the crowd.
According to my googling the USA is 12.7% black. San Francisco: 7.8%. Seattle: 8.4%. Portland: 6.6%. The hippy-dippy state of Vermont? 0.5%! So diverse!
Meanwhile those racist, redneck Southern states? Atlanta: 61.4%. Birmingham, AL: 73.5%. Dallas triples SanFran’s numbers at 25.9%. So before all the people in San Francisco and other utopian paradises go lecturing the rest of us on their tolerance and diversity they may want to consider that the rest of us live and work side by side with more racial diversity in one day than they see in an entire year.
Posted by on 09/08 at 06:38 PMIt’s not just the numbers, it’s the culture of segregation. Places like Chicago and Detroit, for example, have a high percentage of Blacks. But those cities are very segregated. Especially Detroit.
