Eagles are Back

image

The Eagles are one of my favorite 70s bands. And they finally put out a new album after 13 years. It’s a double CD and so far, it sounds excellent. Like prime Eagles stuff. The CD is called the Long Road Out of Eden. As soon as I found out about it, I ran down to Wal-Mart to get one. They cut an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart. You can also get it at a couple other places, but I live near a super center.

This CD sounds like the Eagles I grew up with. It’s great to have them back.

  1. To each his own.  I can’t get over Don Henley (I think it was) making goo-goo eyes for John Kerry.  Colors the memories, so to speak.

That, plus the never-ending “One of these Niiiiiii-ah-ah-ii-ites” and the Grateful Dead inspired never-ending acoustic guitar line in “Hotel California”.  Enough.

I just realized that I have peed in your corn flakes this morning, and that wasn’t nice of me at all.  I apologize.  You weren’t looking for color commentary.

Enjoy your music and ignore comments from people like me.  Thanks for a great web-site.

  2. Don’t worry. To each their own. I don’t hold an artists tastes against their work. Too many artists like lefty politicians because they have the mistaken belief that Democrats are the good guys.

I know a few good people who were Kerry supporters. I just chalk it up to them buying into the hype and or having BDS.

A lot of people hate the Eagles. But I like them and always have. Liking their music has nothing to do with politics.

  5. “Call some place Paradise, kiss it goodbye.”
I have to admit, every time I hear their “Hell Freezes Over” rendition of “The Last Resort,” the tears well up.

  6. When they’re good, they’re very good. It’s no surprise that the Eagles Greatest Hits CD is one of the best selling albums of all time.
