Imagining the 10th Dimension
This film explains all 10 dimensions of reality in a pretty succinct way. You may still have a hard time understanding it. But it does a great job of explaining the fundamentals of string theory. Which is the current, generally accepted theory of the universe.
But wait ... it’s SCIENTISTS that is saying this, and that MUST make it bogus! Right? I mean, that’s what YOU are saying all the time ...

I have an issue with irresponsible people who use a position of authority to tell falsehoods.
This particular post is about a theory in physics, which is in favor at the moment. It is not a fact. But it is an interesting theory and worthy of discussion.
Physicists argue a lot about reality, but most of them know its all subjective and their knowledge is limited.
I have no problems with theories. I have a big problem with scientists who declare something is an absolute truth and no one should question it. Hence my bashing of things like GW.

I belive I could say the same thing ...

Actually it’s not ... :
>>String theory remains to be confirmed. No version of string theory has yet made an experimentally verified prediction that differs from those made by other theories. In this sense, string theory is still in a “larval stage”: it is not a proper physical theory. It possesses many features of mathematical interest and may yet become important in our understanding of the universe, but it requires further developments before it is accepted or discarded. Because string theory may not be tested in the foreseeable future, some scientists[24] have asked if it even deserves to be called a scientific theory; it is not falsifiable in the sense of Popper.<<
wikipediaPosted by on 08/28 at 12:22 PMYes, it’s one of several physics theories. But it is one of the leading theories at the moment. It does not make it true. It is merely a speculative theory that can’t be tested at this point. Kind of like Global Warming (ha ha).
But as theories go, it’s harmless and interesting.
Posted by James Hudnall on 08/28 at 01:10 PMActually, I don’t think this is an explanation of the fundamentals of string theory at all. He’s got a little caveat to that effect at the end of the film, and on his website.
I think the video is actually some stoner’s crackpot explanation of a universe of ten dimensions based on his intuition of the differences between 2 dimensions and 3 dimensions, applied to 4 through 10, where he runs out of conceptual steam. There are 5 versions of string theory, and at least one of them calls for a universe of 26 dimensions.
Posted by on 08/29 at 12:45 PMYes, there are other string theories. This is referring to ten dimensional string theory and I think it’s a concise explanation, even though it is simplistic and missing a lot of elements.
Personally, I thought they did a decent job explaining it to laymen.
