Japanese Fashion Sense

Yikes.

  1. Yeah, it’s all been downhill for at least the last six years or so.  Long gone are the skin-tight black dresses of the body-con era, the micro-minis of the Juliana girls, and the “naughty schoolgirls” of the early ko-gal days.  For years now they’ve been dressing in this horrible layered quasi-folk look that is unflattering and dull.
Nothing to do but wait until the good old days come around again, which they probably will.  If nothing else, Japanese fashion is ever in a state of flux.

  2. That ain’t fashion, that’s cosplay.

At least, that’s what it looks like to me . . . what with the ninja masks and feathers and such . . . we get a lot of that at Otakon. . .

  3. It definitely looks like Cosplay. But in Japan, as Toren points out, this kind of stuff is all too common.
