Just Wondering
I’ve stayed in two separate hotels since coming up here, a Red Lion Inn and a Shilo, and both of them do not offer local TV on their televisions. The only thing available is pay movies. Is this a recent development or some local thing? Those of you who do a lot of travelling, what are your experiences with that?
Last year, I had basic cable in some of the place I stayed in other states, like California. But I can see hotel chains getting all greedy and going in this direction.
That’s a new one on me. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel without at least basic cable channels. Offering only pay-per-view seems like a good way to make sure that you never stay in that chain again…

Posted by on 07/08 at 04:14 PMEither they made it hard to fiind, or they didn’t offer it. But you get a menu when the TV comes on and it does not offer local programs. Just movies, porn, previews and then a channel that replays a commercial for what the hotel offers
Posted by James Hudnall on 07/08 at 04:30 PMI recently stayed in Hotels and Motels in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma; they all had cable and local TV. I stayed in some Hampton Inns, Best Westerns, and Days Inns.
At least one had a clumsy menu system; but it did have some reasonable stuff.
