Kasparov Beats Maher
Great interview. And it explains a lot about what’s going on right now.
Interesting, but I can’t help but notice a bit of America bashing at the end. Comparing the interrogation of terrorists to Soviet tactics? And then Chris Matthews saying all American politicians are bascially retarded.
Posted by on 10/22 at 10:31 AMThat’s typical of Maher’s show. I normally can’t stand him but every so often he has a good guest.
Posted by on 10/22 at 06:09 PMI don’t think the problem with Maher is that he’s extreme or ideological, it’s that he’s very egotistical. He’s always been that way, even going back to the days of Politically Incorrect. His guiding logic seems to be that whatever he thinks is right, and that anyone who disagrees is ignorant or malicious, and therefore deserving of his condescension and over-the-top sarcasm.
He has his moments, though.
Posted by on 10/22 at 10:02 PMOh, I agree totally. I can’t stand him because his smugness transcends almost anyone in Hollywood’s. He’s practically a cartoon.
However, there are times when he can be funny. My first exposure to him was a low budget film called Pizza Man, which I thought was pretty funny at the time.
He’s just another Hollywood type who believes his own BS.
