McCain’s Logical Choice

Since the Dems want to go around accusing anyone who doesn’t vote for Obama a racist, the best thing McCain should do is pick a black VP. I nominate Michael Steele. He’s a likable guy, who’s very smart and that would shut up creeps. Besides, it would send a nice message to wavering Obama supporters that they can have their cake and eat it to.

But then again, another choice that would be smart because it might pull in Hillary supporters and women is nominate a female VP like Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. There is plenty of really upset Hillary supporters right now who don’t like the way Obama shined her on. They wanted to see a woman run for president. If McCain picks a woman, that may be enough for them to jump parties. After all. McCain is a moderate and Democrats have considered voting for him in the past. Palin is a likable person. Especially compared to blowhard Biden.

It will be interesting to see who McCain picks. If he goes with a Romney, that’s understandable. But I think he can steal a lot of Obama’s thunder with a smart pick.

UPDATE: Dick Morris agrees. It should be a woman. Obama blew an important chance.

  1. I haven’t read anything about this man that I don’t like, but doesn’t look like McCain will choose him.

Louisiana governor says no to creating special categories
An anti-discrimination order put in place by former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco four years ago won’t be renewed by Governor Bobby Jindal.

  2. I like Jindal, but he needs more experience in office. Besides, Louisiana needs him right now after years of Blanco and other worthless governors.

  3. I was a Palin fan until I read this.

“Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska’s Legislature last year approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry — a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared.

At a time when Americans are feeling the pinch at the gasoline pump and oil companies are racking up record profits, Alaska’s choice foreshadows one of the sharpest debates in the upcoming presidential election.
ConocoPhillips said that in total, once royalty payments and other taxes are added in, the state captures about 75 percent of the value of a barrel.”

This is not something a pro business conservative ought to be involved in.
Windfall taxes are always passed to the consumer.

  4. Well, she brought her state a lot of money. I suppose that’s what a governor ought to do, though I disagree with the methods. Arnold should be all for off shore drilling in California so they can get a tax windfall they really need.

Kay Baily Hutchenson is another choice for VP.
