Michael Moore’s Sick

image

It’s been awhile since I dissed Michael Moore on here. The crockumentary film maker who takes dishonesty and propaganda to new lows has another film in the works. This time on the state of US health care.  He apparently wants to show that socialized medicine like what they have in Cuba is better than health care in the US.

Filmmaker Michael Moore’s production company took ailing Ground Zero responders to Cuba in a stunt aimed at showing that the U.S. health-care system is inferior to Fidel Castro’s socialized medicine, according to several sources with knowledge of the trip.

The trip was to be filmed as part of the controversial director’s latest documentary, “Sicko,” an attack on American drug companies and HMOs that Moore hopes to debut at the Cannes Film Festival next month.

So what are Cuban hospitals like? There is one hospital Fidel goes to, which is a show hospital frequented by some westerners. But the real health care in Cuba is nothing like that. It’s apparently as bad as you’d expect in a poor country.

Getting sick, for the average Cuban, may mean being pushed to the hospital in a wooden wheelbarrow because there is no fuel for a proper ambulance. Once there, having taken his or her own bed linens and maybe a fan to help hope with the stifling heat since there is typically no air conditioning in the wards, the patient finds generally dirty surroundings, cockroaches, lack of running water and stopped-up or broken toilets. There have been reports of intruders stealing the patients’ personal belongings, such as fans and radios, sometimes at knifepoint.

The food, if it is provided, is so poor that relatives usually bring something from home. Laboratory tests requiring imported reagents will more than likely not be performed, and many of the medicines prescribed by the doctors are not available, either in the hospital or in the pharmacy.

Here’s some more pictures to barf over.

Naturally Moore, a communist sympathizer, thinks anything is better than the US. And like many deluded people who flock to Cuba to bask in the glory of the world’s oldest living dictator, he feels a need to parrot the propaganda he’s been fed. But see if he every goes there for any medical help. How much do you want to be he gets it all in the states?

One of the reasons the cost of health care is so high in the US is because hospitals have to make upo for the money they lose treating uninsured, non-paying patients. Of which, the majority are illegal aliens. I doubt this will show up in his “documentary”. They are closing two hospitals down in my home town of Santa Rosa, California, because illegals have bankrupted them. This is happening all over the country.

Moore’s movie is yet another broadside from a liar for the left. And it will undoubtedly avoid the real problems with American health care. Just watch the French praise it next month as they mindlessly do to anything anti-American.

  1. A few years back I went back to college.  My econ prof at the local community collge was a huge fan of moore.  We were forced to watch his stupid movies in class.

The prof and I used to have email wars over politics until I questioned his educational background.  This after he wrote that I needed further education to fully understand the liberal way. (basically I was too ignorant)  When I pointed out that he only had a masters and was teaching at a community college in a small town, he went insane.  It was quite funny.  You ARE NEVER to question a liberal.

  2. Michael Moore took Americans to Cuba? Excuse me, but isn’t that illegal, and can’t he be arrested for facilitating that?...

    ...Please?...
