NObama
I don’t have a horse in this presidential race. I’ve got problems with both contenders. But there is one thing I do know, I do not want an Obama presidency.
Why? Because I’ve already lived through the Jimmy Carter years and whatever you think of Bush and the economy right now, it doesn’t remotely compare to the Carter recession and the years when Americans were being held hostage in Iran. Obama is Jimmy Carter times 10.
First of all, B.O. wants to neuter the US military and work toward unilateral disarmament. Yeah, right. I’ll bet our enemies would love that. The lefties in the 80s called for that. But Reagan ignored them and the Soviet Union collapsed. So much for that idea. Yet now Obama is saying he wants to bring that policy back to life.
There are also some disturbing questions about his associations. He belonged to a church for many years with a racist minister. It’s a radical ministry. He also has radical friends and associations.
He has been named most liberal Senator in 2007, and frankly it was liberal polices of the 60s and 70s which caused significant damage to the country. Some of it is still with us, but when things like Welfare was retooled, it fixed one of the huge sinkholes in society. The welfare state has been named one of the biggest things that destroyed poor families in America. Yet Obama states he wants to institute more socialist programs.
The media is trying to tell us he is a “post-racial candidate” but he doesn’t seem to embrace his white family, calling his grandparents “white folk” and even though his dad deserted him and a child and his white grandparents raised him for a time, he identifies with blacks and hanged out in a racist, radical church. Doesn’t sound too kumbaya to me. Obama seems to be mixed up in more ways than one.
He also decided to run for president before he finished his first term in office. That speaks of a huge ego. And his arrogance has been on display more than once, You know it’s got to be bad when even Jon Stewart starts dissing a Democrat.
As a rule of thumb, I always recoil from cults of personality.Obama is being over hyped by the press. Read the nets like I do and places like Digg, Reddit, the Huffington Post, are awash with fawning, sycophantic articles about how great the man is and how evil and senile McCain is. There’s a rank smugness radiating from all the usual Democrat shills who tell us Obama is a lock. A sure thing.
This after a long campaign where he could never fully knock out Hillary until the bitter end. This shows he is not as popular and as effective as his cheerleaders say.
Obama is being sold to us as some kind of savior. That he’s going to heal divides and solve America’s problems. But his solutions are bad, his promises hollow, and what he offers is a lot of the same old Democrat “solutions” which wrecked the country in the 1970s. No thanks.
I tell ya, the cult-like air around Obama really concerns me.
People are just too stuck on appearances and are NOT paying attention to the writing on the wall and this man’s past actions.
The double-standards and hypocrisy of his supporters never ceases to amaze, either. Somehow, it’s really bad for a Republican to pay tribute to an old fellow have a slip of tongue (see Trent Lott paying tribute to Jesse Helms some years back—it’s the action that cost Lott his leadership of the Senate) but all is forgiven and forgotten by the media and Ultra-Left at large when Obama declares Wright a lovable uncle he doesnt’ always agree with. RRRRIIIIGGGHHT. And he went to “uncle’s” church for 20 years and was not influenced at all!
As for the economic policies of Obama, I can see where people are naive and plain ignorant of the reality of this man. Too many of us bought into the fantasy of the gravy train and bad mortgage deals from banks. Most of us still have credit card debts that we shouldn’t have, but, of course, the banks took advantage of that, too! There’s enough misery and lack of personal responsibility to go around that I can see enough people actually electing Mr. No-Answers.
(P.S.—At this point in time, I consider the biggest failing of American education to be teaching basic lessons in economics and money management behind the failure to teach personal accountability in school.)
Yeah, I’ve got problems with McCain but he seems more adult to me than Obama. Obama just comes off as childish, churlish, and supremely full of himself. There’s just something about a guy who’s supremely confident he’s going to win that is a major turn-off for me.
Posted by on 06/28 at 06:38 PMSome people think Obama’s a messiah, Well, he’s more like the wrong type altogether.

And don’t forget, if you don’t vote for Obama then you’re a RACIST!Posted by Macker on 06/29 at 05:03 AMYeah, but for which race?
Posted by on 06/29 at 08:55 AMYeah, it’s interesting that Obama is half white, but he’s considered a black man. It would be just as reasonable to call him a white man—half is equal to half, right?
Posted by on 06/29 at 12:39 PMI just CANNOT stand people who see politicians as being superheroes or something! Just look at this youtube comment about the video - “good ideas..i hope he can do these things and SAVE HUMANITY… ”
IMO, it seems like liberals are the most fanitical when it comes to “worshipping” politicians. What is up with that?
Posted by on 06/30 at 01:49 PMAnd now, after sending our best men to die on distant battlefields fighting against Communism, we may simply vote a Marxist into our highest office. Am I pissed off? You bet your ruddy, red, a—.
Posted by Brock Townsend on 06/30 at 02:23 PMI don’t think Obama is a sure thing at all. Michael Barone did a study and found that most of his support comes from college towns and other extremely blue city areas, but it evaporates outside of that. He wasn’t able to easily get the nomination. And I suspect as he gets more scrutiny in the next few months, he won’t looks so good. Really, if McCain weren’t a mess in his own way, Obama would be doomed. As it is, I think McCain will squeak by. Maybe even do better than that.
