Obama Wins Nomination
So what now? Who’s going to be his VP?
I don’t think it will be Hillary. Even though that is what the Clintons will try to get next, [Update: They’re already trying] Word to Obama: Think LBJ to Kennedy. How’d that work again?
Edwards? He brings nothing to the table. He couldn’t even carry his own state.
Gore? Nope. he won’t be anyone’s second fiddle.
Richardson? Possibly and likely.
John Kerry. Could be. If he would be wiling to do that. I don’t think so.
Who do you think might get the VP slot? I think he needs a southerner. Or some like Richardson who brings the west and Hispanics.
He could surprise us all.
UPDATE: Jimmah Carter has some good advice for Obama.
Richardson would be a great choice for the reasons you state above, but mostly cuz I actually like the guy. Kerry, not so much. Gore. No. And Hillary would drive me to McCain (I’m currently leaning strongly towards Obama).
Posted by Edshugeo The GodMoor on 06/03 at 07:46 PMIf he were interested, Gov. Mike Easley (D-NC) would probably make a good choice, and would probably carry North Carolina, a first for the Democrats since 1976. That said, I doubt Gov. Easley is interested.
Posted by on 06/04 at 08:00 AMObama would be smart to get Richardson. But he may have someone else in mind.
Posted by on 06/04 at 08:30 AMBrin suggested that Obama should at least approach Colin Powell; and I must say, that appeals to me very much.
Posted by on 06/04 at 11:25 AMIf not Bill Richardson, then probably Joe Biden.
Posted by D.C. Thornton on 06/04 at 02:30 PMJohn,
I doubt he will ask another black man to run with him, even though Powell would give him credibility.
Since Drudge said Caroline Kennedy is looking for a Veep for him, I wouldn’t be surprised if she said Robert Kennedy Jr (a major environmental wacko).
