Oh, Shut Up

Someone really needs to put a cork in these AGW clowns. It’s getting really old. Now they want us to ration food.

People will have to be rationed to four modest portions of meat and one litre of milk a week if the world is to avoid run-away climate change, a major new report warns.

The report, by the Food Climate Research Network, based at the University of Surrey, also says total food consumption should be reduced, especially “low nutritional value” treats such as alcohol, sweets and chocolates.

It urges people to return to habits their mothers or grandmothers would have been familiar with: buying locally in-season products, cooking in bulk and in pots with lids or pressure cookers, avoiding waste and walking to the shops - alongside more modern tips such as using the microwave and internet shopping.

This is the danger of giving these people too much credence. They keep making more and more hysterical demands and there doesn’t seem to be a limit on the extreme nature of these calls.

The good news about the bad economy is shuts down frivolous arguments like these. People don’t have time to listen to AGW scaremongers when they have real things to worry about. AGW and the anti-carbon industry is more of a luxury guilt trip.

UPDATE: It really is getting out of hand.

  1. I’ve emailed you a link to a nice article, where they point out that all the major satellite data now indicates temperatures are where they were in 1930.
Can they all quit gibbering about GoreBull warming, now?

  2. What if we were going through a Maunder Maximum, and all the other factors pointed towards a warming climate? Would it make more sense to cut back on greenhouse gas emissions, or adapt to the higher temperatures?

  3. Since the last warm period was a time of great progress and places like Europe flourished, it’s not a bad thing. Warmer weather and more co2 is good for plants.

  4. Mythusmage, cutting back on “greenhouse gases” is a complete waste of effort.  Increased CO2 follows increases in temperature, not the other way around.  The Vostok ice cores prove that.
The whole thing is a joke.  The system is self-balancing, which is obvious, since otherwise it would have spiraled out of control hundreds of millions of years ago under pressures a million times greater than our piddling contribution (volcanic super-eruptions, asteroid impacts, etc).
