Predictions 2008

Hillary Clinton will win the Democrat nomination, but lose the presidency.

Ron Paul will lose the Republican nomination but run as a third party candidate.

Paul ends up drawing more Democrats away than Republicans, helping insure Hillary’s defeat.

But a Republican wins in November. I am leaning toward Thompson defying expectations of the pundit class, and winning the nomination. However, if he doesn’t, Romney will.

The Republican nomination will be a roller coaster not a cake walk.

The housing slump lasts into the fall.

The Iraq surge will inspire an Afghan surge.

Pakistan turmoil will result in martial law and perhaps the fall of the current government.

Global Warming skepticism grows after a cold winter.

Global Warming laws will continue to be passed, fueling a backlash.

The Hollywood writer’s strike will last till late February/early March.

Iraq will continue to cool down.

Many Democrats frustrated by their party’s performance since the last election will form a new party.

Despite the attempts by some, Cheney and Bush will not be impeached.

  1. Happy New Year!

And just for another thing to celebrate, Dr. David Whitehouse, the British astronomer and former science editor of the BBC, tells us:

“The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 and every year since 2001”

    “Global Warming” stopped?

    Surely not.

    What heresy is this?

Haven’t we been told that the science of global warming is settled beyond doubt and that all that’s left to the so-called skeptics is the odd errant glacier that refuses to melt?

Aren’t we told that if we don’t act now rising temperatures will render most of the surface of the Earth uninhabitable within our lifetimes?

But as we digest these apocalyptic comments, read the recent IPCC’s Synthesis report that says climate change could become irreversible.

Witness the drama at Bali as news emerges that something is not quite right in the global warming camp.

With only few days remaining in 2007, the indications are the global temperature for this year is the same as that for 2006 IE: there has been no warming over the 12 months!

But is this just a blip in the ever upward trend you may ask?

    No.

The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 as well as every year since 2001.

Global warming has, temporarily or permanently, ceased.

Temperatures across the world are not increasing as they should according to the fundamental theory behind global warming IE: the greenhouse effect.

Whatever warming trend was going on has flattened out in the last seven years. Which is an odd thing, because China and India have been pumping out more CO2 from cars and industry.

A bunch of ugly facts are nailing the biggest scare story in history.

    We’re safe! Let’s celebrate!

    But just in case:

THROW AL GORE INTO A VOLCANO!
