Real War Movies Run Free

While Hollywood continues to lose money on its anti-war flops, people are flocking to see the real thing on YouTube videos from the front lines. And they can see them for free without the sanctimonious commentary from the ivory tower dwelling, private jet flying, Hollywood scolds. While peaceniks sit around talking about cowardly Republicans who avoid the draft, actual soldiers in combat, or citizen journalists who have flown there to ride along, are bringing you actual footage from the ground. They aren’t sitting on their high horse casting aspersions and passing judgment from their mom’s basement.

Everyone fighting in the war volunteered. They weren’t drafted. There is no draft. This is fact seems to elude those who freely use the word “chicken hawk”. People have put their lives on the line to actually fight terrorists. Not sit around complaining about how things are being done. Real men and women have acted, not talked.

And while we can debate the merits of fighting in Iraq from dusk till dawn, it’s kind of a moot point after four years of being there.

Libya has stopped its WMD programs. Iran (if you believe the reports) has stopped its nuclear weapons program. Saddam Hussein is no more. The Taliban are still on the run in Afghanistan. North Korea is finally coming around. None of this happened in a vacuum.

It’s not a surprise that millions of people have viewed these online videos while the inverse number of people saw Redacted. What is a surprise is that some are still making the same tired anti-war arguments that were wrong in Vietnam, let alone in 2007.

  1. I’ve always thought that these real war footages/documentaries are the war movies of our time.  I’ll bet if Youtube existed back in the Vietnam war we would not have been bombarded with all those anti-war movies.

  2. Yes, our media during Vietnam edited the film footage to make us look bad. Or they played it out of context. Like the famous shot of the naked girl burned by napalm. She was burned by NVA napalm. She lives in America today. Which gives lie to the America is evil message that picture is used to represent on lefty sites.
