REVIEW: Get Smart
Not the funniest movie I’ve ever seen, but certainly not a bad film. I enjoyed it. It had excellent production values and a perfect cast. The humor was like the TV show, deadpan. But updated a little for today’s audiences.
It’s certainly a nice change from all the gross out comedies we;ve been getting, which are starting to become pretty tired. This was more of a classic kind of comedy with wordplay and a little slapstick thrown in.
Steve Carell was the perfect choice to replace Don Adams. While they made this Maxwell Smart a bit more competant than the old one, he was still pretty clumsy and made plenty of mistakes.
The audience seemed to like it, They laughed more than I did, but I’m jaded.
