Rogue Waves
Imagine waves as tall as ten story buildings. Satellite tracking has conformed these mythical waves are real and may be the reason many ships are lost at sea. An interesting article on how they are trying to understand them.
Paging Bermuda Triangle, anyone?
Now you’ve given me yet ANOTHER reason to be afraid of the water, Hud! LOL
Posted by on 04/24 at 07:39 PMMy step dad was in the navy during WWII and he was on a ship during one of the worst sea storms eve4ry recorded. A fleet was crossing the pacific. One of the more famous people also on one of those ships was Gerald Ford.
Anyway, he said they lost two ships in that storm to massive waves. he said he watched the ship ahead of his go down. He said his was buffeted from one side to another at 45 degree angles.
The one time I crossed the ocean on a ship I was sea sick for a couple of days and he said it was the smoothest voyage he ever had. I don’t get sea sick now, but I was 7 at the time.
