Scumbag Dujour

This story is a classic example of how vile some on the left are. Many posters on the Huffington Post were wishing death on Tony Snow when he was diagnosed with another tumor. And while Cathy Seipp lie dying of cancer, some talentless hack decided to create a fake website pretending to be her and attempted to trash her family and everything she believed in.

If he was one of the immature teenagers that frquent sites like Digg or Youtube that would be one thing, but he’s a 54 year old man named Eliot Stein. How pathetic can you get?

One of the things that bothers me about lefties is how full of hate many of them are, and they have no problem doing things like this. It doesn’t speak well of their political views when alleged humanists are so inhumane. 

1. The lefties are completely insane.  I’ve blocked 3 of my old friends because I can’t take their hatred of Bush and the US anymore.

   The left equate Bush with saddam and say we are the torturers and terrorists.

   One friend, really started out as my daughter’s friend, I just asked him not to email me anymore.  He is totally deranged.  And his father has worked for the State Dept. for 30 years and is a socialist from the Ukraine.

   I just couldn’t take his leftwing rants anymore.  we used to email debate over issues but he has lost his mind with his hatred of Bush.  I don’t need this crap.

   I really am worried about this country.  I was around for the hysterics of the anti-war crowd during the Vietnam War.  And I see it happening all over again.  First they said ‘we support the troops, but not the war’ then they started burning soldiers in effigy.  Then they spit on our returning military.  I see the same thing happening again, but this time our lives are at stake.  If we pull out of Iraq, I’m terrified of the consequences.

   I listened to Bush’s speech this morning re: the congress’ gutless bill to set a time table for withdrawal.  He sounded great.  I wish he would get his swagger back and blast the dems even harder.  What does he have to lose?  He should use the bully pulpit and call out the dems in really strong language.  He needs to do this in prime time and not let the ‘drive-by media’ pick and choose what they want to tell the public.

   Sorry, I’m on a rant today.  I’m just so pissed off by the left.

2. What do these guys have to do with the “left”? Some dumbass on the internet has nothing to do with me or my candidates. 

   These folks are statitical outliers and tend to step outside the boundaries of traditional electoral politics.

   If you want, I can come up with quite a few “rigthies” that make republicans as a whole look like a bunch of idiots. But we all know that it is BS.  I agree with this guy about as much as you agree with Anne Coulter. 

   You guys have some abstract notion as to what a “left” leaning person is.  It reminds me of the Borat movie where everyone thinks the jews have horns and are shapechanging deamons who lay eggs.

   Its okay to call out this mans vitriol and to label him as an idiot.  It something else to assume that everyone who isn’t a “right” is the same way. You are just picking and chooing what you want to see in order to support your prejudices.

3. The left is only hurting themselves. Teh media may more or less support them, but the public as a while doesn’t. In the Vietnam era, Nixon on his re-election by a landslide even though they used the same hate against hm they use against Bush.

   Of course, these are different times and Bush does an amazing job of pissing people off. He seems to have a tin ear for public relations, like his father.

   Hopefully, the left will o for the Dems in 2008 what they did for them when Nixon ran.

4. Testify,

   You’re right that not all lefties are that way. I know since many of my friends are lefties. My dad is a Democrat and so are all my in-laws on that side.

   What I, and newsjunkie are talking about, are left wing radicals who put up this constant barrage of anti-American hate that has nothing to do with reality. (eg: The US is the bad guy and the terrorists are freedom fighters)

   I was also talking about haters like that dufus who attacked Cathy Seipp. He seems to be a bitter stalker type. He may not even have any politics of his own, but his actions remind me of so many people on the net. I read plenty of left wing blogs and the hate spewed in the comments by lefties is much worse than what I see on right wing blogs.

   Of course, when Clinton was in power, the right wing newsgroups had a lot of similar invective toward the Dems. But there seems to be a lot more death wishing on the left. And site hijackers seem to have left wing agendas You don’t hear too much about left wing sites being hacked.

   As for Coulter, she’s more of a satirist, but her comments probably mirror her actual thinking. I think she says outrageous stuff to get attention, and it seems to be working for her. Her stuff makes too many sweeping generalizations for me to take it seriously. It is like the right’s version of Al Franken or one of his ilk.

   Unfortunately, we have too many shock value political commentators right now. The media is to blame for a lot of that. They look for extreme quotes and extreme people for entertainment value.

5. Well you don’t say “left wing radicals”.  You say “lefties” in a rather pejorative manner. Therefore eliciting a response. 

   It is odd how extreme the internet 2.0 makes people.  Everything becomes so personal.  I don’t even know why I care that you make fun of lefties. I don’t associate myself with those folks in real life anyway.  Obviously you weren’t trying to call me out with your posting, but it feels that way nonetheless.  I see this phenomenon in all blogs I visit.  (Especially sports blogs...those dudes go nuts.  It turns mild sports fans into the KKK)

6. I’m an independent. I am not a Republican or a Democrat, nor would I be because I don’t trust either party. I only vote for the least damaging party of the time, which is admittedly a very hard call since I think the Republicans F’ed up big time while they were in control in a lot of areas. But I see the same crap or worse from the Dems right now.

   As for not distinguishing lefties from radicals, it gets a lot harder when people I know who were pretty level headed have become so inflamed by this nutty paranoia and hate being spread by the radicals.

   I think you’re right to compare it to sports sites. I see the same thing going on. It’s a team sports mentality. People on the left and the right are acting like sports fans. They are blindly rooting for their team even though the players in that team are complete jackasses. But they feel compelled to root for their team, just because it’s their team.

   And the manipulators who create the propaganda, they deliberate inflame their people knowing they can use this sports mentality to their advantage.

Newsjunkie_ky, I don’t blame you for avoiding your lefttist friends.  I used to have one such friend myself but there was just no reason with that person after he started admiring people like Chavez and Micheal Moore.  I could’nt even get into a proper conversation with him because he would’nt allow me to speak my views with his constant and never ending rants.  It’s how typical leftest do debates, never allow the other side to speak by refusing to shut up.

   my lefty friends would throw out some drivel, never backing anything up with the facts.  Then if I debunked that they would change the subject and say I attacked them personally.

   I just got tired of the crap.  I’m an old broad (55) and I’ve been around for the Vietnam anti-military rallies.  I even participated in the early 70s.  I was young and let my college peers influence me.  Now, I make up my own mind and I research everything I can.  I don’t just take anything at ‘facevalue’ anymore.

10. That’s the thing. Anyone who bothers to check the facts (not just read more propaganda) soon realizes what liars the leftists are. I mean, they are blatant liars.

    If you believe in lefist ideals, you shouldn’t have to lie so much to make your case. But here’s some simple facts: activists aren’t the heroes of history. Many of them are mass murderers. Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Castro, Che were all activists turned murderers and oppressors. (Che was Castro’s executioner among other things).

    I take on the left here mainly out of disgust with the lies, hate and vile propaganda they spread. Even though, I personally am tired of this nonsense. It has to be done.

    But as far as your “friend” goes, based on what you’ve said they sound like a lost cause. Maybe they will wake up in a few years. It doesn’t sound like your conversations with them are very constructive. Time for some new friends.

12. It seems like all the radical hatred started with the “stolen” election of 2000, and escalated from there until it reached it’s current state, which now resembles a mental disorder. I wonder how much of it is the result of Bush being in office. Will it settle down and things get back to normal after 2008, or is the divide so wide now that the two sides can’t even see each other? I remain optimistic but sometimes I wonder.

    Are you calling me a liberal?

    Not all Republicans hate gay people, many of them ARE gay people. Plenty of Democrats hate gays. But the Democrats face is all PC. However, I know a few racist Democrats. Being a leftie doesn’t make you immune from racism or sexism. Pretending only Republicans are haters is one of the more hypocritical things people on the left do. They call Republicans haters, then wish they would die in the same paragraph.

    Maybe you are talking about the others here, but I don’t paint everyone with the same brush. When I talk about leftists, I am talking about radicals. And not all radicals are bad people. I know plenty I happen to like and get along with. But the difference is, they aren’t crazy even if what they believe is (IMO).

    You can find haters on all sides. That’s not the point, as I said earlier, it’s teh people who wish death and cancer on someone just because they disagree with them. That is seriously screwed up. And I also think it’s Fed up to side with dictators and terrorists over your own country, as many of these people do.

    I guess you never heard of Rudy Giuliani and how he lived with a gay couple when his 2nd marriage tanked.  I read an article about how well they took care of him through his divorce and 9/11, I wouldn’t have left and take them with me to the White House.

    Of course your statement proves that all self-professed ‘progressives’ ‘liberals’ and ‘lefties’ are, in indisputable fact, the most prejudiced and narrow minded people on the planet.

    Who else would hold Iran, which hangs homosexuals, in the same, if not superior state of moral grace with a country that debates the merits and demerits of gay marriage.
