She’s Baaaaack!

It looks like Hillary is not going to stop being an issue for Obama. She may even try to take the nomination from him somehow. Which would be an interesting turn of events.

The problem Obama’s having is this. Despite the fact that the press is making him out to be the second coming and pushing him as this hugely popular figure, he’s only even with McCain in the polls. Even slightly behind in some.polls. And McCain is a 71 year old Republican that Republicans don’t even like. Usually, Democrat candidates are 10 points or more ahead at this stage in a campaign. Kerry was, Gore was. Yet Obama seems to be sinking, not advancing. And Republicans are supposedly so unpopular right now if you believe the press.

Hillary has a lot of electoral votes she’s bringing with her to the convention. And she could use it to make trouble. At the very least she could force Obama to put her on the ticket. And you know what, if I were Obama, I would not want her as VP. People who get it the Clinton’s way don’t last too long.

Hillary can rightfully claim that Obama is a weak candidate. He barely defeated her and now he looks shakey against McCain.McCain is whacking him about the head with what I call a “bugs bunny” strategy. Goofy campaign ads that are almost non-sequiters. And they seem to be working.

So Hillary can come in and say she’s the answer to November. And she might even be able to make a good case. I don’t think she can win, however. I also think Obama probably won’t win (which I have been saying from the start).

That Chinese curse seems to be hitting the Democrats hard this year (“May you live in interesting times.”)
