Site Redesign
I am in the process of redesigning my website and making all the pages a consistent design, including the blog. You can see the new design on the home page. I’ll get around to the others sometime this week.
Love the green....very soothing.

Posted by on 10/03 at 07:45 AMLooks really good, Hud!
Hopefully, you’re still working on more comics, too, as the new site implies.
Did you take down the writing tips from the page (for the upcoming book), or are you adding that later on?
Posted by John Cassidy on 10/03 at 06:51 PMI like the look of your new site, Hud; the green works for me, too.
It works nicely in Firefox on my Windows 2000 Professional; but, it does not line up quite right in IE6 (the latest version that Microsoft supports on W2K) - the right column overlaps the left one, and the content of the left one is down below the right one. This is not a big deal; it is still readable, a bit of alignment. ju

Posted by on 10/03 at 09:17 PMJohn,
I’ll be adding my essays back and some other pages. I am still putting things together.
Posted by on 10/03 at 09:18 PMGood! I hope you add the tirades, too (like “Get Some Character, People!” and “A Titanic Mistake")! Those are still great reads.
Posted by John Cassidy on 10/04 at 02:55 AMIt is fixed in IE6 under WK2, Hud. Looks good in both IE6 and Firefox!
Posted by on 10/04 at 08:36 AMMy two cents:
The right-hand column, where the entries are, has a large margin on the left that really squeezes everything to the right. Also, it would help if both columns were each another inch wider.
IMHO, of course. It’s your blog - make it how you like it.
Posted by Dave Marron on 10/04 at 08:51 AMDave,
I spent hours trying to fix that. The problem is, when it looks good in Firefox it’s a mess in IE. This is the compromise I have to work with until I figure out a work around. The site is all CSS and doesn’t use tables. The problem is, IE ignores web standards and has their own and that makes headaches for people like me.
Posted by James Hudnall on 10/04 at 09:01 AMWell, maybe someday I’ll try FireFox. People have praised it high and low.
Thing is, I’m old and set in my ways and I’m used to IE.
Posted by Dave Marron on 10/04 at 09:34 AMI only use IE when I have to. Firefox is a great browser. Can’t recommend it enough.
