Speaking of American Idol

Here’s a preview of Bucky Covington’s CD, out in April. He sounds pretty good. Especially on song Different World, which is about the days before PC took over.

Also, Entertainment Weekly has an article on Chris Daughtry this week, on what an angry, uptight dude he is. No surprise. But he should clean up now that Idol has chosen his song “Home” as the loser’s song for the year. Last year, Daniel Powter’s song “Bad Day” sold a zillion copies after Idol picked it as the loser’s song.

Mandisa has a CD coming out in June and she has lost a lot of weight. She looks pretty good. In fact, she’s working as a model now. Wow. 

1. I like Bucky - he’s a good ol’ boy. 

   Daughtry - not so much.

   I can’t believe Sanjaya is in but Rudy is out.  Sanjaya was LOUSY on Tuesday night.  There must be a lot of teeny-boppers with cell phones.

2. Seacrest said he was the #4 most popular guy that night. I’m sure it’s teeny boppers and maybe, Indians, pulling for him.

   I think Rudy’s problem was he was too corny. He sang well, but he was kind of affected. Like that one girl who was voted off who sang like she was shouting.

   One of the things I have noticed about this show, is the people with marginal looks and talent go first. Rudy was very average looking. Sanjaya looks like a pretty girl. Which is what many girls his age relate to.

3. BTW: I’ve listened to those songs on Bucky’s CD and I will definitely buy the whole album. I like what I’ve heard. Especially a Different World. Great song.

   And to think he was one of the more awkward of the top 10.
