Stupidity DuJour

Harder to fathom is why audiences return. Fans who tolerate the repetitiveness and ideological bankruptcy of the “Rush Hour” franchise, for example, may be testaments to the power of hope and a need for familiarity at a time when the Iraq war continues unabated, pensions and polar ice disappear, and Al Qaeda videos enjoy wider distribution than Sundance winners.

NY Times Film Critic Jeannette Catsoulis on why this years summer sequels propelled the film business to a record year.

It seems they will go to any length to bash the war or promote the global warming agenda.

  1. Funny how everytime to hear the word Global Warming, you blow a fuse! wink
... a nice little article about the stupidity of sequels, and all you fest onto is one line about a stupid war, and GW.  How is that, I wonder?

  2. Once again you miss the point of one of my posts. In this case, I’m talking about how the NY Times has to put political editorializing in everything, including articles about movies. I’m sure in this case, it was the author who did it and not the editors. But then, she is part of a culture which buys into what they are trying to sell.

And the reason I go off on global warming is to point out how the media tries to insert it into every damn story no matter how unrelated. Because they are pushing an argument that is not proven (man made global warming) and they want everyone to believe it. It’s the lie spoken often enough becomes the truth theory that the nazi’s came up with.

And the reason I go off on it? Because it’s being used to systematically limit people of options and will eventually lead to more taxes and less freedom. And all for a bogus theory. So I feel its important to fight back and that’s not going to change. So you might as well shrug and move on if my attitude bothers you.

  3. The thing is, the author of this article did not say anything about global warming ... She said “polar ice disappear” - which it does, without any doubt what so ever, and at an unpresidented speed. I sure don’t hope you want to deny that piece of undisputable fact.

She said that people might go see braindead sequels because they are fed up with all the negative stuff in the news, like the war aso ... and I truly belive that might be the case. - and there is nothing wrong with that.

“So you might as well shrug and move on if my attitude bothers you.”
Awwwwwwww ... are you getting tired of me?
