The New Prohibition
You had to know this was coming after the anti-smoking hysteria, and the fast food hysteria and the global warming hysteria…
Alcohol is ranked almost as harmful as heroin in a controversial new drug classification system proposed by a team of leading scientists.
The class A drug Ecstasy, possession of which can result in a seven-year prison sentence, is placed near the bottom of the league table which lists “harm scores” for different substances.
LSD, another class A drug, is also considered relatively safe despite its powerful hallucinogenic properties.
Cannabis, recently downgraded to class C, occupies a middle position. It is rated more dangerous than Ecstasy, LSD and the dance floor drug GHB, but less harmful than tobacco.
Watch the Brits try to make alcohol illegal. Though that will be a tough sell in that country. So it will be a slow process like what was used on tobacco .
Watch as more and more stories come out that claim alcohol causes this cataclysm and that, and drives up insurance costs for everyone else, etc. etc.
Once the anti-smoking clowns got their way (and yes, I call them clowns. They have gone way too far when they deny people almost any right to smoke practically anywhere). you had to expect the control freaks would find something else to attack. People like that are never satisfied. Which is why we have to fight against this kind of thing.
Yes, drinking is a problem for many people. Smoking does cause health problems over time. Obesity is not good, either. But people should not have their choices and freedoms taken away because some authoritarian scolds on a power trip decide what “good for us”. It’s none of their damn business. And insurance should never be an excuse for anything. That whole industry is one big scam. All they do is take money and try not to pay benefits. It’s playing Keno. They take your money and you lose it.
The problem with these types of laws is “The Foot In The Door” concept. Bottom line is we need less government, not more. I am not against the concept of goverment - but he who would rule me MUST be smarter than me. In my lifetime, unfortunately, this has not been tne case.

I was stoned for six months straight in Vietnam, and I stopped one day with no consequences, though I was worried that I might have some the day before. Acid, on the other hand, can be dangerous, although it is only mentally dependent like grass, it can cause your mind to do strange things, and that is why people have been reported jumping off of roofs, and more. When I was on leave in San Francisco in 1969 before I went back for a second voluntary extension, I almost freaked out on it. When I was at the beach, I started looking at the waves, and thought they were coming to get me, but fortunately, I remembered what a girl had told me, and got my presence of mind back, snapped my fingers, told myself this is just an illusion, focused on another item, and it was over. I also saw a field of high grass turn into soldiers! They called me “Mr. WOW” when I spent a long time once gazing into an open Coke, and continually stating “Wow.” The main thing with acid is to start small on a full stomach and be with someone who can slap you around if necessary, not that I have done it for over 30 years. Mescaline can cause problems also. It makes you get “close to earth,” and one time I saw an extremely steep cliff going up from the beach, went up it until I was almost at the top, when I didn’t see anything more to grab on. When I looked down, I was scared. I had no other choice, but try to get to the next bush which was too far away. Fortunately, I made it. Now back to something important like my Confederate Heritage defense!
