The Russian who saved Millions of Americans

An interesting story from the Cold War. When the Soviets shot down Korean Airlines jet 007 things were tense between their cuntry and the West. A computer glitch almost set WWIII in motion. One man with a finger on the button made a wise choice. Many don’t even know who he is, but he may have saved their lives.

Cool pictures. Am I the only one who is often amazed that RCA jacks have survived for so many years? There’s no reason I can think of they shouldn’t have, but that’s part of what surprises me.

RCA has been around a looong time. I remember them from the early 80s and my first VCR. Now all sorts of new connectors are showing up, but I think something as simple as the USB would be nice.
