Top 100 Architectural Projects
It’s the 21st century and designers are reminding us of that with all kinds of fantastic buildings. World Architecture News has listed the top 100 most searched on buildings. There are many I was unaware of. Very cool stuff.
What to say about the self-important and overblown that isn’ itself self-important and overblown. Most of them seem to be saying, “Admire my enormous willy, and marvel that I can bone anything smaller than an African Forest Elephant.” Why are there so few top architects? Because there are so few egos of that quality.
But, as long as those into architecture as an art support environment dominating, people degrading designs, we’ll continue to get impractical, grandiose designs that will never get built as originally drawn. How much cheaper would building costs be if the engineers had sensible objectives to work towards?
