Transcribing Soundtracks
I got a USB turntable that lets me convert albums to MP3 format. They have them at Costco for around $100. The fidelity could be better, but its letting me translate a bunch of my anime soundtracks to MP3 format. I have a huge stack of 80s anime albums. I bought them back when I was a big anime fan (before I became a pro). Most if not all of these are out of print. Maybe some of the more popular ones might be available in Japan on CD, but I doubt many of them are. So I’ve been having fun making some tracks that I can burn on a CD for my car.
Here’s a song from the Adieu Galaxy Express 999 Soundtrack I really like.
Theme to Space Runaway Ideon. Another favorite of mine.
It sure is nice to hear some of this stuff again. I had it sitting in a box in my garage for years. When I saw that turntable, I had to grab it. Posting that article about my favorite 80s anime shows got me all nostalgic. I have to say they made some great soundtracks in the 80s. The current anime soundtracks are mostly crap from what I can tell. With a few exceptions. But back in the 80s, most of the soundtracks ranged from good to great.
I’m planning to do a list of my favorite anime films soon.
