Update on the Cult War

I’ve been interested in this war on Scientology by the group Anonymous. But it’s been quiet the last few days. So I started searching for articles and this is what I came up with.

Scientology has been very busy trying to mitigate the massive PR crisis that’s come about in the wake of the release of a 2004 Tom Cruise video. With Anonymous releasing their other secret videos and attacking the Scientology websites, the COS gone into a defensive posture.

First they send out their minions to social networking sites to try to bury stories about them.

Next they sent “mysterious powder” to themselves and get it reported in the media so they can bring some kind of federal charges against their detractors. Didn’t work too well. So one of their brainwashed celebs gave them 10 million dollars in what they thought was good PR and not extremely creepy.

Meanwhile, there’s word that Katie Holmes has had enough and wants to leave Tom Cruise. (They will try to stop her).

Many people have been giving advice to Anonymous via Youtube. (There’s plenty more if you look. I just liked this one as an example).

The press has been paying attention to the battle.

Mass protests against the cult are being organized around the world on Feb 10th.

So things are just getting started.

Lots of their secret documents and videos have been leaked to the web. If it wasn’t obvious by now they aren’t a real religion, this might change your mind. Here’s a list of the bogus exercises they put you through for thousands of dollars. There are plenty of interviews online with ex-members of the cult who held top ranks that back this up.

They are about to face a losing battle that all their lawyers and stalkers will have a hard time dealing with. Like the RIAA, they are fighting against an unknown legion of people on the internet They can’t fight them all. More and more exposure will be revealed and I seriously doubt they can weather this storm.

  1. Interesting battle going on here.  But what’s your opinion James?  Do you think the higher ups in the Church KNOW that this whole religion is a scam?  Or have they somehow convinced themselves that this is all real?

  2. Thanks for gathering this info, Hud.  I’m in Portland during the week caring for my terminally ill mother and don’t have the time to scout out scientology-related stories.

    Fascinating (and scary) stuff.

  3. TJX,

According to people who were at the top echelon of the “church” who left, the people at the top know it’s BS. For example, Hubbard died with Psychiatric drugs in his system. He regularly broke all the commandments of the church.
