What Costs More than the Iraq War?
It’s one thing to take in workers we may or may not need. But that’s not what I and many others complain about. I don’t have a problem with people from Mexico coming here. It’s all about the flagrant disregard of our sovereignty and laws. And the massive toll it takes on our social services. Many American citizens, who need our social programs, are being short changed because illegals are bleeding the system dry.
The so called leaders of this country have to be aware of this. Why they took so long to start making an effort to change things us a seriously bad reflection on their competence.
We’ve been through HOW MANY amnesty programs in the last century or so? And each time it’s supposed to be accompanied by a new immigration set of laws. And more illegals, and more amnesties, ad infinitum. For what purpose is there a border? National security is vital, Chavez has a school to teach Middle Easterners how to be Mexicans if they’re caught by the Border Patrol. And speaking of the BP, they get done if they do their jobs(Ramos and Compean). Are we not at war? Is the definition of “illegal immigrant” not also “foreign invader”? Is the duty of any citizen of any nation during time of was not to engage and repel the invader, with lethal force if necessary?

Um ... and what percentage of that were U. S. citizens who are retirees sending money to themselves in their Mexican villas? Pretty high. And you want to solve that problem how?

Once again, you miss the point and the indisputable fact: A lot of criminals come here illegally. So much so they make up a large part of our prison population and those are the ones who are caught.
Illegals are straining our social services to the point of breaking. Hospitals are being bankrupted. A large part of our medical costs have to do with hospitals passing on their losses (from unpaid medical bills) to consumers.
This is the reality that unchecked illegal immigration is creating.
Now, I’m all for LEGAL immigration. I also support worker programs if we need the workers. But what we have now is chaos.
Like it or not, some illegal immigrants do commit crimes. The law of averages shows that if you have 12+ million of them, a small percentage (or not) is going to account for a lot of crime that should never happened here if they had the problem under control.

I agree if they are LEGAL aliens, work visas, fine. Come on in. But illegal means just that. If you sneak across the border, you’ve broken the law. If you don’t contribute to the tax base, if you send most of your earnings out of the country, go home. FIX THE PROBLEMS in your own country, and you won’t have to break the law in ours. The land they want to claim in the SW is ours, not theirs. We either bought it, or won it in combat. You want to be an American worker, do it by the law.
