  1. Thank God the art style isn’t the same as the recent Spidey and Batman cartoons.  This actually looks decent and realistic compared to the overlly stylized and kiddiefied cartoons of today.

  2. Marvel has been rolling out a lot of animation lately, they are going for a look that’s more or less like the comics. I just hope the script isn’t bad.

I haven’t seem more than a few minutes of theur Ultimate Avengers animation. It didn’t hold my interest so I never watched the rest.

  3. Sorry, I have to disagree...this looks like just so much more BAD pseudo-anime to me. All style (and not much of that) and absolutely no substance. I’ve always maintained that if they want to make a GOOD movie featuring Marvel characters, they should just pick a few of the classic comics and use them as storyboards and shoot THAT. The two FF movies were an absolute disgrace. Although, with Brad Bird’s “The Incredibles” we got a chance to see how good an FF movie COULD have been!

  4. Yeah, the Incredibles is still the best Superhero movie, IMO. I’d probably rate Iron Man as #2

  5. Compared to The Batman and Spectacular Spiderman??  I think this looks pretty decent.

  6. Batman Begins was great but I think a little too serious and morose. It could have used a touch more humor and light in a couple of places.  Spiderman 1 was great, but the dialog was weak in spots. All three Spidermans have too much of Spiderman with his mask off. And tend to be a wee bit corny.

Iron Man was just about right. But the Incredibles was all around note perfect on every level (execept I think Brad Bird’s character designs are a little too characature at times).

The new trailer for Teh Dark Knight is pretty impressive.

  7. Actually I was referring to The Batman animated series simply known as ‘The Batman’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Batman_(TV_series) , and the new Spiderman animated series ‘The Spectacular Spiderman’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spectacular_Spider-Man_(TV_series) .

  8. Oh, those are TV shows. I was talking about movies. I haven’t seen the new Spiderman cartoons. I really liked Justice League Unlimited of the cartoon superhero shows the best.

  9. I just didn’t like THE BATMAN as much as the older series.  But THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN was cute, though.  At least it’s infinitely superior to the MTV/Mainframe SPIDER-MAN series!

While I’m rather iffy on Marvel’s new animated films, I enjoyed the new DC animated films (like SUPERMAN: DOOMSDAY and JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE NEW FRONTIER, the latter being my favorite, no surprise).

BTW, the character designs for THE INCREDIBLES were done by Teddy Newton and Tony Fucile.

  10. BTW, I saw that Spidey/Iron-Man/Hulk video last week.  Great stuff!  Spidey looks better than he did in the movies, Iron-Man is an equal to his movie counterpart, and the Hulk is probably the best Hulk we’ve seen in action!  (The Hulk in the upcoming movie isn’t too bad, either.)

  11. I still haven’t seen Justice League: New Frontir, so I am glad to ehar you liked it.

  12. NEW FRONTIER was *very* truncated from its source material, but is nonetheless remarkably faithful to the source material!

SUPERMAN: DOOMSDAY greatly outclassed its source material, IMHO.

  13. Okay, why does everyone seem to hate the MTV CG Spiderman??  I thought it was different from other Spidey toons and had pretty mature storylines.
