Yes, Bush is Stupido

Well, when it comes to things like this he has to be.

President Bush is not giving up on his plan to legalize millions of unlawful immigrants and will seek to convince skeptical GOP senators that it secures the nation’s borders, administration officials said Sunday.

But the Senate’s No. 2 Democratic leader said he was uncertain about the prospects for a deal. Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois cited opposition from a group of Senate conservatives who contend the legislation guarantees amnesty to illegal immigrants.

“We need a breakthrough on the Republican side,” Durbin said.

Tony Snow, White House spokesman, and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez both predicted an immigration bill would pass once Bush meets with lawmakers this week and Congress reconsidered the measure.

If guest workers are so important, all they need to do is create a program for them to work legally. But why should they have to reward illegal aliens with some kind of citizenship? No matter how convoluted they make the process, it sends the signal that we are capitulating to illegal immigration. And you can bet, once they pass the bill, some politicians will come along and make the process easier to appease the Hispanics. Even though many Hispanics are also opposed to illegal immigration.

Bush is acting this way because Rove thinks this bill will insure the Hispanic vote for Republicans for future generations. They shows you well thought out this travesty is.

This is one area Bush needs to be soundly defeated. He should get a clue abouut his popularity. When people who supported you are as pissed off as much as the haters, you need to do some self examination.
