They Won’t ApologizeMedia Matters, the Hillary started, left wing media watch dog has launched into another attack on Fox News. This time over claims Fox doctored photos of some NY Times reporters. They and other sites going into hyper paranoia mode claimed it was Rupert Murdoch trying to get back at people he hates. etc. etc.
I swear, the degree to which some of these sites wax apocalyptic over Fox News is almost comical if it wasn’t so sad. I mean, all major news media is worthy of some kind of scorn. But to fixate on one network because it has a vaguely has a conservative bent, why they must be THE DEVIL!! I mean, wow, how dare they say something different than what they believe. They must be stopped at all costs!
Anyway, Release Notes is a blog by Peter Bickford and he has plenty of experience with desktop publishing. And he points out these “photohop efforts” by Fox have a completely innocent answer.
Of course the rock throwers, living in their glass houses, will be too busy looking for some other nit to pick to apologize for their mistake.
The Sooner, The Better
The leftist professors who dominated our universities since the late 1960s are fading away into retirement. And that is making our schools less ideological according to this NY Times article (yes, I know).
In general, information on professors’ political and ideological leanings tends to be scarce. But a new study of the social and political views of American professors by Neil Gross at the University of British Columbia and Solon Simmons at George Mason University found that the notion of a generational divide is more than a glancing impression. “Self-described liberals are most common within the ranks of those professors aged 50-64, who were teenagers or young adults in the 1960s,” they wrote, making up just under 50 percent. At the same time, the youngest group, ages 26 to 35, contains the highest percentage of moderates, some 60 percent, and the lowest percentage of liberals, just under a third.
When it comes to those who consider themselves “liberal activists,” 17.2 percent of the 50-64 age group take up the banner compared with only 1.3 percent of professors 35 and younger.
I hate it when leftisst call themselves liberal, They aren’t even remotely liberal. But, whatever…
Of course, these professors have taught the ones coming up. So plenty of young professors got their world view from these crazy lefties. People like “America is Evil” Noam Chomsky or main hater extreme Andrea Dworkin. But I suspect the baby boomer professors are uniquely more self righteous than the younger ones because of the nature of the times they grew up in. In the early 60s, political leaders were assasinated, race riots were common, terrorists were Americans, the racial divide was very real. There’s a lot less reason to be so angry today, even though we could point to other injustices. Mainly ones created by the logic of these same leftist professors. Many of the loony memes we have today like “we’re killing the planet” or “dead white males” are inventions of these people.
The sooner they go away, the less we have to deal with their crazy talk.
BS DuJour
I am really getting sick of these clowns. Now they’re claiming flat TV screens cause global warming. THERE IS NO PROOF AGW EXISTS. None!
The stuff they keep claiming is proof is almost always either shot down like the Mann Hockey Stick or attributed to other forces, like the snow melt in Mt Kilimanjaro. And let’s not forget “Greenland is Melting”.
Meanwhile, hack “scientist” James Hansen, one of the biggest media whores on the planet, is calling for more money and a bigger agency (for him to run no doubt). Right.

If I was a billionaire, I would buy some of these and totally renovate them.
REVIEW: Hancock
The critics really trashed this film, so I went in wanting to see if it was really all that bad. And guess what? I rather liked it.
I think people’s problem is they went in expecting either an action movie or a comedy, It’s really neither, though it has elements of both. It’s wha they call a dramedy. It seems to have been made by people who are not comics geeks, but it actually has some good action bits I haven’t seen in a superhero movie before. It’s also a unique story about the “last superhuman” and how he tries to straighten out his life after becoming reviled by the public. Along the way he finds out about himself and his forgotten past. It’s not a bad movie at all. Could it have been better? Sure. But I think it did what it set out to do.
If you go in not expecting too much you may end up pleased, like I was.
Sweet!

Spore Creature CreatorI’ve been having a lot of fun playing around with the Spore Creature Creator. It’s a free tool that lets you create your own critter and then upload it to the internet where you can share it with others, When the Spore game comes out in a few months you can play it in the world you create there,
The game itself is revolutionary and if the creator is any indication, it will be a lot of fun. There are so many wacky creatures you can create with this game and the interface is very easy to use.
