REVIEWS: Zero Dark Thirty and Silver Linings Playbook

Both of these films are really good. Zero Dark Thirty tells the story of the hunt for Bin Laden and it’s an unflinching look at what it too to find him and the politics that stood in the way. The film is non partisan and shows that the agents trying to find Bin Laden had to do it by dancing around the shifting political climates and realities on the ground. The story mainly focuses on a CIA analyst named May played by Jessica Chastain who is driven to find Bin Laden even while the agency stops caring about him. It’s an interesting kind of spy film based on true events.

Silver Linings Playbook is a romantic comedy about how two bi-polar people fall in love. It’s extremely well written and acted with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as the main characters with Robert DeNiro playing Cooper’s dad in one of his best roles in over a decade. It’s up for all sorts of awards and it deserves them. Its a really well made film. I found it very funny and touching.

5 Facts About Gun Violence

Its disgusting how so many political hacks are calling for innocent people’s civil rights to be taken away because of what a few crazies and crooks did.

Alex Jones Smackdown

He gets a little too animated (bordering on crazy man) but it’s hilarious to see Alex Jones smack down the hack journalist Piers Morgan who makes frauds cringe. The alleged onslaught against guns by Obama and his creepy minions is going to backfire big time. Most people by far want the right to bear arms. Try to take them away and there will be a serious backlash.

I don’t agree with a lot of what Jones claims to be true. On the other hand he’s right about a lot of the stuff he says here. Morgan on the other hand is using absurd arguments. England has a fraction of the people we do so his numbers are meaningless.

The Debt Limit Explained

Imagine something a million times more stupid than what this guy is doing, then realize than what our politicians is 1000 times worse than that. We have criminally negligent fools managing our resources. And we elected them. What does that say about us?

The fiscal cliff exists because of their stupidity, avarice and blatant negligence. Remember than if you end up suffering because of it.

Vegas, Baby

I’ve been in Vegas the last couple of days seeing friends. I’ll be heading back today. It’s been fun. The place is getting really crazy as we get closer to New Years so I am getting out of here.

I visited a bunch of friends including Gilbert Hernandez and Steven Grant not to mention retailers Jim Brocious of Cosmic Comics and Ralph Matthieu of Alternate Realities. Both of whom have moved into new, bigger and better stores. You should check them out if you come to town. Both have been in business over 10 years.
