Senator Robert Byrd died today. He was 92. Another reason we need term limits. The whole idea of lifetime senators is a mistake that should have gone out in the 20th century.

I’ll give Byrd some credit for sticking up for the occasional constitutional principals when someone like Obama tried to ram through some nonsense. But in the end, he was just another hack.
Byrd was one of the last of the old time Senators who’d been in power for 40+ years (52 in Byrd’s case). Time tio put an end to that practice. I don’t think anyone should be able to serve more than two terms in the Senate.
