Once Upon a Time in America Restored

Martin Scorsese produced a restoration of the classic Sergio Leone film which is arguably his finest film. It has an addition 26 minutes added back in bringing it to over 4 hours on DVD. I can’t wait to get this. Leone is my favorite director and I just rewatched a bunch of his films on HD blueray. Here’s a little more backstory on this edit.

Quentin Tarantino is hugely influenced by Leone to the point that he uses some of the music from his films, Pulp Fiction’s out or order narrative was swiped from Once Upon a Time in America as was the opening to Inglorious Basterds was a homage to the opening of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

Anyway, its just been shown at Cannes so it may be months before we see a DVD. Can’t wait!
