Two Faced Hillary

During the Democrat primaries I rooted for Obama over Hillary, even though I didn’t want either of them to win the election. The reason I preferred Obama to Hillary is, at the time, he seemed less likely to win the election, but he also seemed preferable to her if he won. After all, I really don’t want to look at Bill Clinton’s mug any more than I have to, not to mention Hillary’s. The Clintons ran a very corrupt white house and I didn’t want to see a return to that.

Oops.

Not only did Obama hire almost the entire Clinton cabinet, he hired Hillary as Secretary of State. And apparently, she has changed her tune on Israel now that she no longer needs to patronize New York Jews as senator.

In a swift about face from her views as New York’s senator, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is now hammering Israel over its treatment of Palestinians in Gaza.

As First Lady, Clinton raised eyebrows when she kissed Suha Arafat.

Since she was then seeking a Senate seat the resulting brouhaha caused her to “re-think” her positions.

“I’m a very strong supporter of Israel,” Clinton said back in February 2000.

On Thursday, as Secretary of State she had yet another about face in the form of angry messages demanding Israel speed up aid to Gaza. Jewish leaders are furious

The Clinton never seemed very sincere to me and this proves it. She may be pushing this administration’s agenda. In any event what we’re seeing is not very encouraging. The next four years are looking really ugly.

And Clinton may be destroying her political future being part of Obama’s cabinent. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing after all.

  1. 80% of American Jews voted for Obama in the last election.
I hope they’re happy with their purchase, because there are no returns and no refunds.

  2. Yeah,

I never understood the whole liberal mentality bent of American Jews.

If anything, there’s far worse anti-Semitism amongst the liberal intelligentsia and so-called progressives than there is among conservatives and libertarians.

Liberal/progessive American Jews seem to still believe like European Jews (before the Holocaust) that if they just act like everybody else, don’t retain any kind of cultural identity or spirituality, and assimilate totally that all their problems in the world will go away. I just don’t think that thinking works. Someone’s always going to find a stupid reason to hate you. You have to be yourself!

I’ve never hated somebody solely for their cultural identity. There are a billion better reasons for DISLIKING someone such as irritating personality (condescension is a big peeve of mine), general douche-bagginess, and a propensity for dishonest behavior and pathological lying. Those are good reasons for hating somebody! Unfortunately, there are times in history when there have been very high-profile Jews who were frankly douche-bags and the whole community’s been blamed for an individual’s actions.

I’ve heard/read there is a growing gap between American Jews and Israeli Jews and that the support amongst American Jews for Israel isn’t anything like it used to be. The vast majority of American Jews just don’t seem to have any kind of connection with Israel and don’t seem to care that the hard-left in the Democratic Party would let Israel burn if it suited their purposes and they felt they could make some kind of deal with the Arabs. American Jews are basically cutting their overseas cousins’ throats for their cousins’ enemies!

I’ve had a feeling for a while now that if the political pendulum turns hard enough Israel is screwed if it continues to depend solely on the US for support. The Europeans have certainly proven they can turn a deaf ear to atrocities in their own backyard (Yugoslavia, anybody?) and anti-Semitism in Europe is alive and well.

Frankly, I think most people in the world don’t give a damn if Israel burns and that’s a shame. Sure, Israeli governments haven’t been perfect but if you compare their records to their neighbors there’s no comparison!

P.S. — If it ever came down to annihilation of Israel by one of its neighbors, I have a strong feeling that NOBODY’S going to be able to walk around the general area in the Middlle East for a few hundred years without some serious protective anti-radiation gear. Israel will take down the whole neighborhood if it comes to that. It will not go down quietly….

  3. The left hates Israel for various reasons. I think one of them besides the obvious reason is Israel is a fairly rational voice in an irrational area. The left seems to thrive on emotions and anger.

At any rate, the bible may be semi-accurate. A serious world war could erupt over Israel. Whether you believe in it or not, it’s kind of a self fulfilling prophecy.

BTW: Thanks for adding some comments, guys. I was beginning to wonder if anyone was looking at the new blog. (I knew they were because I have great tracking software installed. 250 visitors in the last 24 hours so far)
